Alto Adige Wines are betting on Italian operators in the sector and, for the first time, are opening the doors of the Alto Adige Wine Summit to them, this year in its fifth edition. The biennial event organized by the Alto Adige Wine Consortium, which brings together journalists and wine stakeholders from all over the world, is growing and adding two dates: September 7 and 8.
Alto Adige Wine Summit: a special edition
The goal is to welcome the most important Italian operators in the sector in a structured program that will alternate preview tastings of new vintages, vertical tastings with rarities and iconic wines, various masterclasses dedicated to the most current topics. The event is by invitation only and restaurateurs, wine merchants and sommeliers from all regions of Italy are expected to attend.
“For us, it is essential to continue to strengthen the dialogue and collaboration with restaurateurs, retailers and wine merchants, as they are the first ambassadors of our excellence and an essential point of connection to make the wine heritage of Alto Adige known and appreciated by an increasingly wider audience” explains the president of the Consortium, Andreas Kofler. “With this first edition of an event built specifically for the most renowned operators in the Italian sector, we want to provide them with an important opportunity to learn more about and rediscover our territory and its wines, through a program full of preview tastings and seminars on the most current topics and future challenges”.
It is no coincidence that the year chosen for the debut of this event is the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Alto Adige controlled designation of origin. It will also be a precious opportunity to concretely tell the important introduction of the 86 additional geographical units (UGA) that are leading Alto Adige viticulture to further increase its identity, territoriality and uniqueness.
