The 2025 harvest began on Monday, August 18th, in the Ferrari Trento vineyards, culminating in a season that was overall balanced, but not without its challenges. The meticulous work of the winemakers at the most renowned Trentino winery, combined with the excellent vegetative condition of most vineyards and the balanced yield, allows us to look forward with optimism to the harvest that has just begun, which promises to be positive in terms of quality and average yields.
“This year too,” comments Marcello Lunelli, vice president of the winery, “the preparation and prompt intervention of our winemakers were crucial in tackling a dynamic year, which required particular care and precision to obtain healthy, aromatic grapes.”
As per tradition, the 2025 harvest will begin in the Chardonnay vineyards located at lower altitudes, gradually moving up to the higher elevations, including the Pinot Noir vineyards. Harvesting is done exclusively by hand, as required by the Trentodoc production regulations, to ensure the selection of the finest grapes, which will then be transformed into refined and elegant sparkling wines.

The 2025 vintage in Trentino
The 2025 vintage for Ferrari Trento began with above-average winter and spring temperatures, which favored early budbreak and regular vegetative development, supported by good soil water availability.
The spring season, characterized by recurring rainfall, presented new challenges in plant protection management, necessitating timely and targeted interventions.
June, particularly hot and dry, helped contain the spread of downy mildew, but also brought a series of violent summer storms, culminating in localized hailstorms that affected several areas of Trentino.
This year, however, the destructive effects of hail were largely contained thanks to Ferrari’s investment program in protective nets in vineyards located in areas particularly susceptible to this phenomenon.

2025 Harvest: Three New Coquard Presses for Ferrari Trento, Artificial Intelligence Arrives in the Vineyard and Cellar
We are looking forward to the 2025 harvest, which begins today at Ferrari Trento, with optimism. This year marks a new harvest of the prized grapes from the Trentino mountains, and significant innovations are also being made at the winery.
The experience and meticulousness of Ferrari Trento’s winemakers and agronomists has been complemented by a significant investment by the winery aimed at continuously improving quality: the grape delivery and processing area has been renovated with three new presses, the first in Trentino, from the historic French brand Coquard, recently acquired by an Italian group.
Commissioned by Chef de Cave Cyril Brun, the new press area, valued at over €2 million, not only allows for the processing of whole grapes, but also allows for direct loading of the grapes, avoiding conveyor belt transfer, ensuring optimal conditions during the delivery and processing of the raw material.
But there’s more: Ferrari Trento continues its path of innovation, also adopting advanced technologies that further enhance the quality of its wines. These include the use of artificial intelligence, employed both in the cellar and in the vineyard: when the grapes are received, a system of digital cameras is activated. Through image acquisition and the use of an algorithm capable of identifying grape defects, this system allows for accurate quality control before pressing, ensuring even more precise selection in the cellar. In the vineyards, new technologies are used to generate georeferenced estimates of productivity and quality, enabling even more targeted and sustainable agronomic interventions.
