Roberta Corrà, General Manager of Gruppo Italiano Vini (GIV), has been named Person of the Year at the 2025 Wine Star Awards—one of the most prestigious international accolades, often referred to as the “Oscars of Wine.” The annual award from leading U.S. magazine Wine Enthusiast honors the most influential figures in the wine, spirits, and beverage industries, recognizing their achievements, vision, and impact on the global market.

The award highlights Corrà’s pivotal role in strengthening GIV’s positioning in the United States through Frederick Wildman & Sons—a historic American company specializing in wine import and distribution—as well as through key partnerships in Canada and Europe focused on premium wines.
Her leadership has deepened connections between top Italian producers and consumers, expanding the group’s presence and influence in international markets.
After nearly 15 years of experience in German multinational distribution companies, Roberta Corrà joined Gruppo Italiano Vini in July 2012. Since January 2015, she has served as General Manager of Italy’s leading wine company by revenue, while also holding the position of CEO at Frederick Wildman & Sons. Corrà also serves on the boards of several subsidiaries, including Carniato Europe in France, GIV CZ in Prague, Granarolo Suisse, and Canadian company Phildan.
Since March 2021, she has also been President of the Consorzio Italia del Vino, which brings together some of Italy’s top wineries with the goal of strengthening internationalization and promoting Italian wine abroad.

Beyond corporate leadership, Roberta Corrà is actively involved in mentoring young talent, as demonstrated by her recent appointment to the Scientific Committee of the Wine Management Executive Program at Luiss Business School.
