2025 marked a period of consolidation and renewal for Tedeschi, a historic winery in Valpolicella. The recent rebranding, accompanied by the claim “Dedicated to Knowledge,” encapsulates a philosophy that combines innovation, expertise, and respect for the land. This vision translates into ongoing research—currently structured into four projects with the University of Verona, La Sapienza in Rome, and the Edmund Mach Institute—and into production that remains true to the identity of the territory.
“These achievements confirm a journey built on solid values, love for Valpolicella, and an idea of wine as an authentic expression of culture and land,” explain Sabrina, Antonietta, and Riccardo Tedeschi.
A Successful 2025 for Tedeschi: Amarone and Valpolicella Shine from Robert Parker to Vinous
In the report Italy, Veneto: New Releases (Amarone & Soave) by Monica Larner for Robert Parker Wine Advocate, five Tedeschi wines were selected among the best Italian labels. Among the most acclaimed was Valpolicella Classico Superiore La Fabriseria, described as “one of the most important interpretations of the denomination.” Larner also highlighted the winery’s expansion and the creation of a new wine library.
Eric Guido of Vinous praised the stylistic consistency: “Tedeschi’s Amarone is fantastic, more savory than sweet and beautifully balanced. Their single-vineyard Valpolicella Superiore wines are far ahead of the rest of the region.” Scores ranged from 91 to 95, with the white GA.RY described as “a total pleasure to taste.”
Top Scores from James Suckling and Ian D’Agata
James Suckling confirmed the excellence of Valpolicella by the Tedeschi family with ratings between 90 and 94 points, while Ian D’Agata awarded 98 points to Capitel Monte Olmi 2015 and 91 to Valpolicella Maternigo 2021, calling it “lively, elegant, and highly versatile for food pairing.”
All 2025 Awards from Italy and Worldwide for Tedeschi’s Valpolicella
Wine Spectator included Tedeschi among the Classic Wineries of OperaWine 2026, while Marne 180 won the Gold Medal at the Korea Wine Challenge 2025 and Silver at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2025.
Falstaff awarded the Valpolicella winery five stars, giving 97 points to Maternigo Amarone Riserva 2016 and 96 to Capitel Monte Olmi Amarone Riserva 2018.
Nationally, the latter received Tre Bicchieri from Gambero Rosso, Cinque Grappoli from Bibenda, the Corona from Vini Buoni d’Italia, 96 points from Doctor Wine Cernilli, and the Gold Medal from The Wine Hunter Merano.
