Alta Langa Academy: an online school to learn about Piedmont’s sparkling wine

The Alta Langa Docg is explained online, with a new educational section of its website dedicated to learning more about the Piedmont’s sparkling wine. The doors of knowledge are thus opened thanks to a new educational space on the web, a school accessible to everyone from today. The Alta Langa Academy was born from the desire to share, twenty years after its recognition, the identity and notions of the Piedmontese Denomination with the widest possible audience.

“Through this new section of our institutional website, we wish to open the doors of knowledge of the Alta Langa to all those, and they are increasingly numerous, who want to learn more about our Denomination”, explains Mariacristina Castelletta, president of the Alta Langa Consortium. “We believe that sharing knowledge is essential to fully appreciate the quality and uniqueness of our High Piedmontese Bubbles. We have chosen to do so with a product in line with the essence of the Consortium and the Denomination itself: a rich, curious, attention to detail website, with a contemporary layout”.

The Consortium launches the Alta Langa Academy, an online educational platform on the High Piedmontese Bubbles

The Alta Langa Consortium launches a new educational section on its website, a platform with an attractive and innovative design that was created with the aim of sharing with the public the wealth of knowledge on the DOCG of the High Piedmontese Bubbles.

The new space is the result of a long and meticulous research and study work conducted on the Denomination for the twenty years since its recognition.

With the Alta Langa Academy, the Consortium makes available content of great value not only for wine enthusiasts, but also for students, professionals in the sector and journalists who wish to broaden their knowledge on this jewel of Piedmontese oenology, the oldest Classic Method in Italy, born in Piedmont in the mid-1800s.

The Alta Langa Academy offers a complete journey through multiple aspects of the Denomination, with content created by:

  • Edmondo Bonelli (“The soils of the Alta Langa”);
  • Maurizio Gily (“Viticulture of the Alta Langa”);
  • Carlo Casavecchia (“The production method”);
  • Pierstefano Berta and Giusi Mainardi (“The origins and development of the Classic Method in Piedmont”);
  • Giancarlo Montaldo and Teresa Baccini (“The 90s, the Spumante Project and the birth of the Denomination”);
  • Armando Castagno (“Analysis of the sensory profile of wine”);
  • Vincenzo Donatiello (“How to best appreciate a bottle of Alta Langa”);
  • Piercarlo Grimaldi (“Imaginary farmers, rites and myths of the high hills”);
