Ànzolo by Bellenda, the wine dedicated to Venice

From a vineyard located on the Rive di San Michele di Feletto (Treviso) comes Ànzolo from the Bellenda winery. It is a Prosecco Superiore Valdobbiadene Docg Extra Brut whose name tells of its connection with Venice. The lagoon city was in fact the main market for Treviso wines, also thanks to the waterway that connected it to the capital of the Marca Trevigiana. In particular, Ànzolo – “Angel” in Venetian – is found in Campo Sant’Ánzolo, where the ancient church dedicated to San Michele Arcangelo once stood, an ideal connection to the Rive di San Michele, where the Glera grapes used for this wine come from. And the connection returns visually in the embroidery of the label, which recalls the fretwork decorations typical of Venetian Gothic. “Ànzolo represents the desire to research and explore the different expressions of Glera in the territory of our UNESCO heritage hills, where the diversity of soils and climate is almost a challenge for our company, which has long sought the most authentic interpretation of the grape variety,” said Umberto Cosmo, owner of the Bellenda company.

Ànzolo Valdobbiadene Rive di San Michele: the characteristics that make it unique

Ànzolo, signed by Bellenda, comes from a single vineyard located on the hills of San Michele: the vines here grow on ancient fluvioglacial soils dating back over 20,000 years, characterized by a gravelly structure and excellent drainage that make this terroir unique.

Made with the Martinotti Method, it stands out for its complexity and persistence: “the base wine ages for over nine months on the first fermentation yeasts – specifies Umberto Cosmo – to amplify the characteristics of a unique territory and demonstrate its ability to successfully face the challenges of time”.

Ànzolo Valdobbiadene Rive di San Michele presents golden reflections to the eye, to the nose it opens with an aromatic bouquet of white flowers and citrus fruits, hints of apricot with a light note of rose petal. In the mouth, the bubble is silky, velvety and envelops the palate, while a perfect balance between acidity and softness creates a harmonious and persistent taste experience. Perfect as an aperitif to toast in company, it is ideal to accompany light dishes of Italian and oriental cuisine, enhancing their flavors without overpowering their delicacy.
