Bellussi celebrates Venice with a new signature label paying homage to the city: introducing Belcanto Cartizze – La Fenice Edition Extra Dry

The great sparkling wines meet one of the most beloved symbols of Italian culture. Bellussi Spumanti strengthens its long‑standing bond with Teatro La Fenice by presenting Belcanto Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze Docg Extra Dry – La Fenice Edition, a cuvée created to pay tribute to the Venetian institution and the artistic heritage it represents. More than a simple celebratory label, this new release embodies the vision of the Martellozzo family, which has long intertwined wine, culture, music and territorial identity in a narrative that finds one of its deepest references in the city of Venice.

Belcanto Cartizze – La Fenice Edition: a signature label dedicated to a symbol of Venetian culture

Bellussi’s latest creation aims to transform the dialogue between the Valdobbiadene maison and the world of opera into wine.

Belcanto Cartizze – La Fenice Edition takes its name from one of the world’s most prestigious theatres and joins the Belcanto line, a collection that has always evoked the Italian operatic tradition and the ability to turn technique, sensitivity and balance into emotion.

The new label stands as a tribute to Venice, its cultural history and the long‑established relationship between Bellussi and Teatro La Fenice — a collaboration that over the years has become an integral part of the brand’s identity.

At the heart of the project lies one of the most prestigious areas of the entire denomination.

Belcanto Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze Docg Extra Dry is made from hand‑harvested Glera grapes grown exclusively in the Cartizze area, a territory of just 105 hectares where particularly favorable pedoclimatic conditions contribute to wines renowned for elegance, structure and aromatic complexity.

The hilly morphology, privileged exposure and distinctive microclimate of this zone allow the production of grapes capable of expressing great finesse and a marked territorial identity.

Bellussi: culture as part of the brand’s identity

For Bellussi, culture is not merely a communication tool but a natural extension of its corporate philosophy.

“The relationship between Teatro La Fenice and Bellussi stems from a shared sensitivity toward culture, beauty and Italian excellence,” explains Andrea Erri, Managing Director at Fondazione Teatro La Fenice di Venezia. “La Fenice preserves a living memory and continues to speak to its audience through the power of music. Bellussi brings to this collaboration the vision of a family‑run enterprise rooted in its territory, capable of enhancing cultural heritage with elegance and continuity.”

The project reflects the vision of the Martellozzo family, central to the history of the Venetian winery:

“Bellussi was born among the hills of Valdobbiadene, but Venice has always belonged to our cultural horizon,” notes Enrico Martellozzo, owner of Bellussi. “Teatro La Fenice represents one of the highest symbols of an Italy capable of moving, rebirthing and speaking to the world. Standing alongside this institution means giving depth to our work and telling the story of wine through what truly makes it memorable: quality, history, relationships, beauty. With Belcanto Cartizze – La Fenice Edition, we wanted to dedicate to the Theatre a label that unites the nobility of Cartizze with the evocative power of one of the most beloved places in Italian culture.”

The special edition is conceived as a synthesis of territory, culture and memory — values that have always guided the production of the Venetian maison. Behind every Bellussi bottle lies a family vision passed down through generations.

Today, Francesca, Giovanni and Paola Martellozzo represent the new chapter of the company’s history, carrying forward the heritage built over the years with a contemporary approach that remains deeply aligned with the brand’s roots:

“For us, La Fenice is a place of great emotional and cultural significance. It represents Venice, music, tradition, and that particular form of elegance that requires discipline, care and respect. These are the same values we encounter every day in our work. Belcanto was born from this sensibility, and Cartizze – La Fenice Edition expresses our way of interpreting wine as a story of family, territory and Italian culture.”

A toast to the most authentic Venice

With Belcanto Valdobbiadene Superiore di Cartizze Docg Extra Dry – La Fenice Edition, Bellussi strengthens its positioning in the high‑end sparkling wine segment linked to Italian culture and hospitality.

The new label celebrates the encounter between one of the most prestigious territories of Prosecco Superiore and one of the country’s most iconic cultural institutions, turning wine into a story of elegance, tradition and Italian identity. A tribute to the Venice of art and music, and to the ability of wine to become an authentic expression of national cultural heritage.
