Guido Berlucchi leads the Franciacorta charge at the world sparkling wine championships as the best in its class. The Ziliani family company has won eight gold medals in the prestigious ranking drawn up by Tom Stevenson at the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships.

Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships: Eight Gold Medals for Guido Berlucchi

Guido Berlucchi confirms itself once again as a symbol of Italian excellence in the world of the Classic Method. An undisputed pioneer of Franciacorta, the winery that gave birth to the first bottle of the territory has obtained eight gold medals in the prestigious world ranking drawn up by Tom Stevenson, one of the world’s leading experts on bubbles: a confirmation of its value for the company, which continues to be a point of reference in the international panorama of quality sparkling wines.

At the Champagne & Sparkling Wine World Championships 2024, Berlucchi sent a selection of the ’61 and ’61 Nature lines, both dedicated to the year of birth of the first Franciacorta, created thanks to the intuition of Franco Ziliani and Guido Berlucchi. These two lines represent two cornerstones for the winery, symbols of a legacy that continues to renew itself with excellence. The winery participated with both bottled and magnum-sized references, ranking first in Franciacorta with the highest number of gold medals (Gold) and achieving an excellent result also for the number of worldwide awards.

This success is part of a broader picture that sees Italy as the most awarded country at international level, demonstrating the constant qualitative growth of Italian wine in the world.
