Bertani presents Vintage Edition, the new project that brings together three of the winery’s historic labels — Secco Original Vintage, Soave Original Vintage and Bertarose — reinterpreted through an essential, contemporary aesthetic. It’s a journey that enhances memory, territorial identity and stylistic coherence, breathing new energy into the classic glamour that has always defined the Bertani signature.
The project debuts at Riviera, in Punta San Vigilio, with a narrative that blends history, vision and dedicated tastings. Starting mid‑June, Vintage Edition will also become part of the winery experience, with a tour focused on the three wines.
A project that unites memory and style: Bertani’s vision
Vintage Edition stems from the idea that certain wines do not belong solely to the past but continue to speak to the present thanks to their ability to evolve without losing identity. “Vintage Edition was born from the idea that some wines do not belong only to historical memory but continue to speak to the present through their ability to evolve without losing identity,” explains Alberto Lusini, CEO of Angelini Wines & Estates.
The project highlights Bertani’s stylistic coherence: freshness, balance, elegance and drinkability. Three different interpretations — an iconic red, a historic Soave and a Chiaretto di Bardolino — united by a shared sense of classicism. “It’s not about nostalgia for the past, but about the ability to remain relevant over time,” notes winemaker Pietro Riccobono.
The official presentation takes place at Riviera, the project by the Rana family on Lake Garda, spanning Beach, Terrace and Restaurant led by chef Francesco Sodano. A setting that perfectly reflects the style of the three wines, conceived to accompany summer moments with authenticity and refinement.
Secco Original Vintage: the red that revolutionized Verona
Secco Original Vintage represents the origins of Bertani’s style. It is the contemporary evolution of the winery’s very first wine, created in 1861, when offering a dry wine in a market dominated by sweet styles was a true revolution.
The new blend draws from the historical approach and reinterprets it in light of today’s climate. Corvina becomes the backbone, sourced from Valpolicella Classica and Valpantena, combining depth and freshness. Cabernet Franc adds elegance and floral notes, while Carmenère from Tenuta Novare brings a distinctive balsamic signature.
Ageing follows a logic of precision: carefully measured French oak and a passage in historic concrete to preserve purity and dynamism. The result is a red rooted in Verona yet with an international spirit, capable of expressing Bertani’s style in a contemporary key.

Soave Original Vintage: a historic white that speaks to the present
Soave Original Vintage carries the legacy of one of Bertani’s most representative wines. Historically linked to the House of Savoy, it was served in 1937 at Buckingham Palace during the coronation of King George VI.
The Garganega grapes come from Castelcerino, an area known for its altitude and volcanic‑clay soils. The two‑harvest method remains central: an early pick for freshness and tension, and a later one for breadth and creaminess. A light infusion enhances varietal character, while ageing in small oak maintains integrity and precision.
The result is a contemporary Soave: territorial, elegant and unmistakable.

Bertarose: the rosé that anticipated a trend
Bertarose was born at a time when rosé was not yet an established category. A wine that anticipated a style which would become international only much later. It belongs to the tradition of Chiaretto di Bardolino, a territory that shares ancient production roots with Provence, based on gentle pressing and short macerations.
Moraine soils and the influence of Lake Garda shape a balanced, dynamic rosé. During vinification, 3–4 bâtonnages are carried out at low temperature with all the lees, enriching the must with extract, texture and a distinctive salinity.
Bertarose reaffirms a historic Bardolino tradition, in a territory shaped by European cultural influences and a long‑standing vocation for hospitality.

Riviera and pairings: three wines, three summer interpretations
Riviera’s menu was designed to pair with the three wines through Mediterranean, summery dishes:
- Bertarose 2025 in magnum with eggplant croquettes, cod croquettes and tempura prawns.
- Soave Original Vintage 2025 with oriental calamarata in scampi “busara” and lemon.
- Secco Original Vintage 2023 with Black Angus entrecôte, escabeche carrots and saffron.
- Soave Vintage 2016 with Tiramigiù.
Bertani and Angelini Wines & Estates: a story that continues
Founded in 1857 by brothers Giovan Battista and Gaetano, Bertani is one of the longest‑standing wineries in the Verona area. With the acquisition of Tenuta Novare in the mid‑20th century, the story of Amarone began — now an iconic symbol of the estate. Since 2013, Bertani has been part of Angelini Wines & Estates, a group that brings together six major Italian wine estates, from Tuscany to Friuli.
