Monte del Frà arrives at Vinitaly 2026 with a preview that marks a decisive step in the history of the winery: the debut of Bonomo Sexaginta Custoza Riserva 2022, the first vintage released as a Riserva of a label already central to the range. A wine born from longer ageing, conceived to enhance depth, complexity and territorial identity.
Alongside this new release, the winery is also celebrating the twentieth anniversary of Tenuta Lena di Mezzo in Valpolicella Classica, a project that has helped shape the company’s vision over the past two decades.

The new Bonomo Sexaginta Riserva: when time becomes style
Bonomo Sexaginta was created as a tribute to the winery’s sixtieth anniversary, but with the 2022 harvest it enters a new phase. For the first time, it becomes a Riserva, thanks to extended ageing that redefines its structure and perspective. Time is not just a technical element: it becomes part of the production philosophy, a conscious choice that rejects shortcuts and allows the wine to mature according to its natural rhythm.
The grapes come from morainic hills between 100 and 150 meters in altitude, where calcareous, clay and gravel soils create a geological mosaic capable of giving depth, tension and a marked mineral imprint. The 2025 vintage, with a winter rich in rainfall and a spring of intermittent showers, favored balanced growth and harmonious ripening. The early harvest on August 14 made it possible to preserve acidity and maintain a low pH, essential elements for the freshness of Custoza according to Monte del Frà.
The result is a white wine that preserves the stylistic signature of the winery while expanding it toward greater aromatic complexity and a more defined structure.

Twenty years of Tenuta Lena di Mezzo: a journey that expands the winery’s identity
The theme of time also runs through another important milestone: the twentieth anniversary of Tenuta Lena di Mezzo, acquired in 2006 in Fumane, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica. Eighteen hectares in a privileged position, crossed by a stream, chosen after years of research as the ideal place to explore a territory different yet complementary to that of Custoza.
This estate has allowed Monte del Frà to broaden its vision without losing coherence. Entering Valpolicella has enriched the company’s project, adding new nuances and strengthening a path that unites deep roots with an openness to new territorial expressions.
A vision that places time at the center
For Monte del Frà, Vinitaly is an opportunity to share a journey built on patience, evolution and conscious choices. “With Bonomo Sexaginta Custoza Riserva, we wanted to give even more space to time, allowing the wine to evolve slowly, following its natural rhythm,” explains Marica Bonomo.
