Caiarossa 2021: Tuscan style on the Place de Bordeaux for the eighth year

The unmistakable style of Tuscany moves beyond the borders with the debut of Caiarossa 2021 on “La Place de Bordeaux”. On September 10, the new vintage was presented at the “La Belle Saison” restaurant in Bordeaux, with the participation of Alexander Van Beek and Jerome Poisson, respectively General Manager and Régisseur of Château Giscours and Caiarossa.

La Place de Bordeaux is the oldest wine market in the world, where Negociants have been dealing with wines for more than 800 years. For the eighth consecutive year, Caiarossa is part of a refined small range of international wines that are launched by this particular distribution system that brings together Chateaux, négociants and wine merchants from all over the world.

“A natural outlet, which testifies to the link between Caiarossa and Bordeaux” – explains Alexander Van Beek. “Caiarossa – he continues – is a young company that has patiently managed to grow and establish itself. The wine that bears its name is harmonious and precise, expressing all the personality of this unique estate. Caiarossa strikes for its natural strength, its clarity and its atmosphere, far from artificial luxuries. A new generation of Super Tuscans, a perfect expression of Riparbella and the Tuscan Coast”.

The 2021 vintage can be defined as balanced and harmonious. Characterized by a cold and humid winter, the month of March recorded above-average maximum temperatures. The rest of the spring was generally cool and rainy until the end of May when an anticyclone brought stable weather until the end of August.

Caiarossa 2021, the most emblematic reference of the Tuscan winery – a unique blend of Cabernet Franc and Syrah with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Sangiovese, Grenache and Petit Verdot, aged in barrique for at least 14 months – has already collected enthusiastic scores from international wine critics: 96 for James Suckling, 95 for Wine Spectator (which captured its “power and grace”), 95 for Decanter, 95+ for The Drinks Business (calling it “the strongest Caiarossa yet tasted”).

“Caiarossa 2021 is a wine of depth, passion and a complex, fine and harmonious character – underlines Jerome Poisson – which represents the purest expression of the complexity and freshness of the Tuscan Coast: we are pleased to present its excellence in the oldest Fine Wines distribution network in the world”.
