Over 10,000 bottles of Amarone della Valpolicella Classico Riserva Bosan are kept in the new Caveau inaugurated in Fumane, at the Cesari headquarters. Cesari, a historic company in Valpolicella and a pioneer in exporting Amarone overseas, has created a unique heritage that links past and present. This treasure spans 18 years, from the first vintage in 1997 to the most recent on the market in 2015. Each bottle bears witness to the precious heritage that distinguishes the Cesari winery, which has always been a maximum expression of the territory.
The new Caveau, located in the beating heart of the winery, is an evocative place with the warm tones of the natural wood of the barrels and the Bordeaux red of the furnishings. Ideal for storing bottles, and with an intimate space dedicated to full-immersion vertical tastings. At the center of the caveau, a floor displays all the old vintages of Amarone Bosan Riserva with white and gold labels, and the current one with black and silver labels. To celebrate this moment, Cesari has launched the Verticale Storica: a limited edition box featuring three iconic vintages of Amarone Bosan Riserva: 2015, 2010 and 2001.
Amarone Bosan Riserva has its roots in Marano, in the heart of Valpolicella Classica, in a splendid terraced vineyard that extends 500 meters above sea level, characterized by a soil that is not only calcareous, but with a percentage of volcanic terroir that generates unique wines from an organoleptic point of view. The climate is always fresh and breezy, thus avoiding stagnant humidity that is harmful to the bunches, and favoring the optimal ripening of the grapes for harvesting and subsequent drying. After the traditional drying, the aging period lasts 3 years in French barriques, to conclude with 15 months of refinement in the bottle.

“Thanks to the territory that boasts completely different temperatures compared to the surrounding areas, Amarone Bosan Riserva is characterized by an incredible elegance of taste and aroma, with that acidic, fresh note that gives it vivacity in tasting and that, together with a tannin of great elegance, allows it to have an incredible confidence with time”, comments Michele Gamba, oenologist of Cesari.
“Amarone Bosan Riserva is the stylistic representation of that idea of elegance of Amarone that we have at Cesari”, highlights Giovanni Lai, general manager of Cesari, “a long-lived wine with great potential, which can be appreciated as soon as it is put on the market or can remain in the cellar to be discovered even after twenty-five, thirty years. The Caveau inaugurated today and the possible vertical tasting experiences are tangible proof of this great potential”.
