Following the Consortium’s 60th anniversary celebrations, the Collio region is taking a decisive step forward with the launch of Collio Evolution, the Denomination’s first institutional event. From this year onward, this event will be held on the same weekend in October, each year dedicating a grape variety that is symbolic of the region. It begins with Friulano, the quintessential wine of the region, presented through the participation of 52 wineries and a range of different vintages. The event will take place from October 25th to 27th, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The program will include events for professionals and walk-around tastings designed for enthusiasts.
“With Collio Evolution, we are launching the Consortium’s first institutional event,” says Lavinia Zamaro, Consortium Director. “Every year, on the same weekend, the Collio region will celebrate a different grape variety: a format we want to grow and consolidate, to strengthen the identity of our Denomination and promote it in Italy and abroad.”
The first edition of Collio Evolution: the program for professionals and enthusiasts
The first edition of Collio Evolution, scheduled for October 25-27, will open with the presentation of the research commissioned by the Collio Consortium from Nomisma, dedicated to the perception and positioning of the Denomination. This study represents the strategic basis for future activities and inaugurates a path of further in-depth analysis, including on the economic front, to provide an increasingly complete picture of the value of Collio.
The star grape of Collio Evolution 2025 will be Friulano, presented through the participation of 52 wineries and a range of different vintages. This journey will allow the press and professionals to grasp its evolution over time, balancing tradition and innovation.
The program includes press-only events with technical tastings, tasting sessions with producers, and opportunities for direct discussion. There will also be events open to enthusiasts, including a walk-around tasting and the Premio Collio ceremony, now in its 18th year.
Collio Evolution promises to be a new annual benchmark for the wine world: a moment of encounter, discussion, and promotion that will accompany the growth of the Denomination and its protagonists.
