A strategic move that marks a turning point. On November 21, the general assembly of Collis Veneto Wine Group approved the merger by incorporation of Cantina Sociale di Monteforte d’Alpone, one of the most established players in the Verona wine scene, with over 70 years of history. Founded in 1952, the winery brings together about 450 members and cultivates 1,200 hectares of vineyards, mostly in the classic areas of Soave and Valpolicella, producing 140,000 hectoliters of bulk wine annually and over 4 million bottles. The 2024/2025 turnover exceeds €17 million, bringing Collis Group’s consolidated revenue to over €220 million.
A Premium Hub in the Heart of Soave Classico
The integration strengthens Collis, positioning it as the leader in the production of the Garganega-based white DOC, creating a premium hub in the heart of Italian viticulture. Monteforte d’Alpone is the Italian municipality with the highest percentage of agricultural land dedicated to vineyards: over 95% of its farmland is planted with vines, 65% of which is destined for Soave Classico. Here, viticulture is an ancient tradition, with steep terraced slopes that make production “heroic” and highly appealing to both Italian and international markets.
The operation, anticipated by the leasing of a business unit during the summer, allows Collis to expand its range with Soave Classico, improve production efficiency, and develop innovative strategies for domestic and international markets.

A Strategic Growth Step for Collis Veneto Wine Group
“The strategic operation approved by the general assembly strengthens the roots of our territory and Veneto’s ability to present itself to the world with a single, authoritative voice grounded in quality,” emphasizes Pietro Zambon, President of Collis Veneto Wine Group. “The production tradition we have always shared with Cantina di Monteforte d’Alpone is a heritage that unites us and makes us stronger, in the spirit of a cooperative model that values people, skills, and territories.”
“This merger represents a strategic step forward for our Group,” adds Pierluigi Guarise, CEO of Collis Veneto Wine Group. “The entry of Cantina di Monteforte d’Alpone is not just about size—it brings with it a heritage of production excellence and a renewed drive to continue enhancing quality, particularly in the Soave Classico area. Monteforte and Collis are combining their strengths to build an even stronger future for Veneto wine in Italy and worldwide.”
Collis Veneto Wine Group: A New Consolidated Dimension
With this merger, Collis Veneto Wine Group reaches 7,200 hectares of vineyards, 2,450 members, 6 wineries, and 4 bottling centers, along with 36 wine shops under the Cantina Veneta brand. The consolidated 2024/2025 financial statement shows a profit of €4.162 million—nearly double the previous year—and revenue exceeding €200 million, despite global challenges in the sector. Member growers received about €60 million for the harvest, with an average price of €66 per quintal.
Collis confirms its position among the top 10 Italian wine companies, representing the most renowned areas of Verona, Vicenza, and Padua, and consolidating its role as an ambassador of Veneto excellence worldwide.
