From 12 to 15 April, the Consorzio Vini di Romagna will take part in Vinitaly 2026 with a collective of 21 participating wineries. The Consortium will welcome visitors and trade professionals at Pavilion 1, offering an authentic snapshot of Romagna’s viticulture through masterclasses, in‑depth sessions and direct meetings with producers.
The storytelling of Romagna wines will unfold through two technical deep‑dive sessions open to the public in the tasting area. The first, scheduled for Sunday 12 April at 12:30 pm, is titled “Along the Via Emilia: Rocche di Romagna, a Mosaic of Sangiovese Identities”. The second will take place on Monday 13 April at 12:30 pm and will focus on “Albana, Rebola and Famoso: Romagna’s White‑Wine Challenge”.
The New Map of the Romagna Sangiovese Subzones
In addition, the Consorzio Vini di Romagna will officially present to the public the new map of the Romagna Sangiovese subzones, a detailed cartographic work created by Alessandro Masnaghetti. An internationally renowned figure, Masnaghetti is one of the world’s leading experts in wine zoning; his analysis of soils and exposures has reshaped the narrative of some of the world’s greatest terroirs.
The publication and printing of this map represent a significant milestone in enhancing the unique characteristics of the Romagna territory, finally providing a scientific and educational tool to understand the nuances that make each glass of Sangiovese unique, based on its precise origin.
Consorzio Vini di Romagna: Between Indigenous Varieties and Territories
At Vinitaly 2026, alongside the iconic Romagna Sangiovese DOC, visitors will have the opportunity to discover the territory’s DOP and IGP wines, engaging directly with producers to explore a perfect balance between historical heritage and modern vision.
A leading role will be played by Romagna Albana DOCG, the first Italian white wine to earn a guaranteed designation, capable of impressing with structure, depth and freshness. Enhancing the sensory offering, the Consortium’s institutional tasting counter will serve a selection of Novebolle Romagna DOC Spumante, emblem of Romagna’s sparkling‑wine tradition, combining a contemporary spirit with a history dating back to the late 19th century.
Also featured will be the vibrant Rimini Rebola—represented by a selection of producers from the Consorzio Strada dei Vini e dei Sapori dei Colli di Rimini—along with other indigenous white and red varieties, symbols of a fresh, compelling and high‑quality wine offering.
Roberto Monti Reconfirmed as President
Finally, the Assembly of Members of the Consorzio Vini di Romagna elected a new Board of Directors, which at its first meeting confirmed Roberto Monti as President for the next three‑year term.
The re‑election rewards the work carried out by the outgoing president, marking a path of continuity and trust in the protection and promotion of the territory’s denominations.
