You say Oltrepò Pavese and you think Pinot Noir. And among the reference signatures of the wines of the Denomination, Conte Vistarino undoubtedly stands out, a reality now led by Ottavia Giorgi of Vistarino, who carries on the witness of a tradition that has its roots until 1850, when Count Augusto Giorgi of Vistarino was the first to choose to import the noble vine from France to plant it at Tenuta di Rocca de’ Giorgi.

Today, more than a century later, those vines continue to express the vocation of a land, the Oltrepò Pavese, looking to the future.

“A future full of innovations”, underlines Ottavia Giorgi of Vistarino. “After the company reconstruction of the 2000s and the following qualitative consolidation, today we are in the phase of structured growth”.

A development that will now increasingly focus on the Classic Method: “The latter project which, after the creation of the red Crus on the Burgundy model, the construction of the new cellar and a new professional tasting room to welcome wine tourists and sommeliers, it has become a priority for us, looking at our history, at Champagne and at new consumers”.

He arrives in Oltrepò Pavese to take on the role of new general manager and will support Ottavia Giorgi of Vistarino in the strategic planning and management of the internal team.

Scaravonati, born in 1971, degree in Business Economics from the Luigi Bocconi Commercial University and later for 20 years in the Lunelli Group, where he dealt with management control, investments and acquisitions, European contributions for Ferrari Trento, but also agricultural reorganization for Tenute Lunelli and wine production for Bisol1542, he enthusiastically took up the challenge of becoming general manager of the winery.

“The growth of the Estate corresponds to the prestige that Conte Vistarino continues to confirm over time and the value that this territory must make known”, are his first words regarding the landing in Oltrepò Pavese. “The first activity to which I will dedicate myself will be the development of a multi-year strategic plan, which will be implemented in the vineyard, in the cellar and on the markets, without neglecting positioning, communication and hospitality, in accordance with the vision of the Property. Some innovations, already on stage at Prowein, where we await visits from importers, stakeholders and the sector press, will then be implemented starting from Vinitaly, the central event of the spring”.

“The decision of the new general manager to be part of our team makes it even stronger and confirms, like the recent managerialisation of other important local companies and the well-known acquisitions of recent months, the growing appeal of Oltrepò, which must continue to enrich itself with skills and talents, to have the widespread success it deserves”, concludes Ottavia Giorgi of Vistarino.
