Enrico Bartolini Hangzhou was officially inaugurated on 6 March. The new restaurant of the world’s most Michelin‑starred Italian chef overlooks the banks of the Qiantang River, in China’s Zhejiang region, one of the most dynamic, affluent and touristic areas of the Asian continent. The new venue represents the fourth international project of the Bartolini Group—after Dubai, Hong Kong and Bali—and confirms the chef’s ability to engage with different cultures and traditions while preserving the essence of contemporary Italian cuisine.
“I would first like to thank our Chinese partner, Mr. Pan, for choosing me and for the trust he has placed in us,” said Bartolini. “To best interpret our philosophy, I wanted Nicholas Reina, Chef Resident of Enrico Bartolini Hangzhou, at my side. He will represent our style and our idea of cuisine and hospitality in China.”
The chef highlighted the meticulous work carried out by Reina over the last two years to build a trained brigade, “transmitting method, identity and sensitivity every day.”
Enrico Bartolini Hangzhou: a Timeless Design
The interiors of the new Enrico Bartolini Hangzhou restaurant bear the signature of HDC – Hummingbird Design Company, an internationally awarded studio. The Enrique Garden combines dark wood, architectural details reminiscent of vintage elegance and modern contrasts created through marble surfaces, wiring elements and panels that shape a refined and contemporary aesthetic.
In the outdoor area, two century‑old olive trees imported from Italy stand out, with trunks measuring four meters: symbols of solidity, memory and cultural continuity between the two countries. All the spaces—from the lounge to the private rooms—overlook the Hangzhou skyline, framed by large panoramic windows.
A Menu Between Milan and the Silk Road: Enrico Bartolini’s Culinary Narrative in China
Chef Resident Nicholas Reina, born in Milan in 1993 and trained in top restaurants, including three‑Michelin‑starred kitchens such as Heston Blumenthal’s, will lead the kitchen. In the first weeks, an introductory tasting menu, “Homage to Mudec,” will be offered, dedicated to Bartolini’s three‑star Michelin restaurant in Milan. The menu will feature some of the chef’s signature dishes, showcasing Italian identity with the contemporary elegance typical of his style.
Subsequently, the following will be available:
- the à la carte menu
- the special menu “The Silk Road,” a gastronomic journey inspired by Marco Polo’s route toward Hangzhou
In this culinary narrative, premium Chinese ingredients meet Italian techniques, giving life to an authentic dialogue between memory, territory and innovation.

A 500‑Label Wine List Led by Emanuele Restelli
Wine is an integral part of the experience. The cellar at Enrico Bartolini Hangzhou includes 500 labels, selected from international classics and niche producers.
The sommelier team is led by Emanuele Restelli, certified by the Court of Master Sommeliers, who will curate pairings based on deep knowledge of terroir and vintages.
A New Milestone in the Global Presence of the Bartolini Group
With the opening in Hangzhou, Bartolini consolidates the group’s global expansion, focusing on projects rooted in the territory yet capable of bringing Italian gastronomic culture worldwide.
“This project was born from the desire to create an authentic place, capable of telling our gastronomic message which, as in all our restaurants, is founded on talent, territory and culture,” Bartolini concludes.
