Famiglia Castagnedi, the 2024 harvest is underway: what a vintage it will be in Eastern Valpolicella and Western Soave

The 2024 harvest has begun for Famiglia Castagnedi, which begins with the harvest of grapes from its vineyards located between the enchanting hills of Eastern Valpolicella and Western Soave. A crucial step, the one that marks this moment of the year, which represents the culmination of the careful and scrupulous work promoted in the vineyard, aimed at capturing the essence of the territory in every glass, integrating the iconic and vertical style that distinguishes the company’s wines.

“We are convinced that this year’s wines will not only reflect our territory, but will also help consolidate our role as leaders in Eastern Valpolicella and Western Soave,” says Massimo Castagnedi, brother, owner and agronomist of the company.

“The difficulties of climate change have once again become evident, but we are aware that our work after the rains of May and the summer heat must be in support of the plant, not to tame it, but to interact and intervene to support its needs to ensure that the plant can express its potential in the best possible way.”

2024 Harvest Starts with Pinot Grigio for Famiglia Castagnedi

A path of excellence with the aim of enhancing the territorial identity and the iconic winemaking style of Eastern Valpolicella and Western Soave.

A commitment, that of Famiglia Castagnedi, which is reflected in every phase of the process, where quality is the result of a rigorous verticalization of skills. In recent years, thanks to strategic collaborations with trusted and highly qualified partners, the company has managed to evolve its path, always keeping the enhancement of the terroir and its uniqueness at the center.

The 2024 harvest begins with the harvest of Pinot Grigio, in its organic variant first and foremost, as a testimony to the commitment to sustainable viticulture. The climatic challenges of 2024 have required even greater attention and precision, but the Veronese reality declares itself confident that these grapes will give life to high-quality wines and identity according to the style of Famiglia Castagnedi.

The 2024 harvest will continue in the coming weeks involving all the varieties grown in the company’s production area, with a conclusion expected for the red Amarone grapes, dedicated to drying, by the end of October.

But interest in the grape harvest of this year is also expanding beyond the border. The 2024 harvest, in fact, has aroused considerable interest among Italian and foreign operators.

“We are happy to welcome numerous guests and professionals in the sector, curious to explore our production process, which continues to evolve with an unmistakable style”, concludes Armando Castagnedi. “Among the innovations, our renewed drying system stands out, which combines empirical methods and advanced technologies to guarantee rigorous control of the quality of the grapes. From controlled ventilation, to the drop in weight and human but also scientific qualitative monitoring for certain parameters. This period is special, and we invite all operators to visit our winery, where we will be happy to share the value of our territory and our commitment to preserving it”.
