Galassia – World Wine Network Is Born: Terre Cevico, Medici Ermete and Cantine Giacomo Montresor Unite for International Markets

There is a subtle yet decisive difference between exporting wine and being truly present in markets. Galassia – World Wine Network is born precisely from this awareness: not as a simple commercial alliance, but as an organized system designed to endure, capable of managing global complexity while keeping identities, territories and production visions firmly intact. The project takes shape through the integration of three historic Italian wine companies—Terre Cevico, Medici Ermete and Cantine Giacomo Montresor—which have chosen to combine expertise, structure and international presence without sacrificing their autonomy.

Three Companies, Three Territories, One Shared International Vision

Galassia emerges from the evolution of an already consolidated commercial effort, built on structured and recognized production realities that are key players in Italian wine worldwide. At its core lies not uniformity, but complementarity. The three companies remain distinct in style, positioning and identity, finding strength precisely in their diversity.

Terre Cevico, a Romagna‑based cooperative founded in 1963, represents one of Italy’s leading wine groups in terms of scale and international reach. With a supply chain involving around one thousand member winegrowers, it combines cooperative culture, agricultural roots and a strong export vocation, maintaining a balance between territorial origin and industrial organization.

Medici Ermete, a family‑owned Emilia‑Romagna winery founded in the late 19th century, is today one of the foremost references for quality Lambrusco worldwide. Through a path of stylistic and territorial enhancement, the company has helped redefine the contemporary image of the denomination, positioning Lambrusco as an identity‑driven expression of Italian enology on international markets.

Cantine Giacomo Montresor, founded in Verona in 1892, is one of the historic names of Valpolicella. The Montresor name is closely associated with the tradition of great Veronese wines—particularly Amarone—and with their international diffusion, supported by a long‑established presence and a reputation built over time in global markets.

Galassia is not conceived as an intermediary platform, but as a structured, export‑oriented network, founded on shared governance, operational responsibility and strategic vision.

“In an increasingly complex global scenario, the challenge is not only to be present in markets, but to ensure coherence, continuity and the ability to manage complexity,” says Paolo Galassi, Managing Director. “Galassia was created to integrate solid production expertise within an organized structure capable of sustaining growth over time. It is a model based on governance, responsibility and strategic vision.”

The approach is clear: to preserve the identity of each company while simultaneously building a shared structure able to support coherent and sustainable international development.

Galassia – World Wine Network: Active in Over 90 Markets with a Dedicated Structure

Today, Galassia’s international activity spans more than 90 markets, supported by an organization composed of 10 Area Managers and 3 Brand Ambassadors, each responsible for specific geographic areas. This direct presence enables a concrete understanding of local dynamics and a business approach based on long‑term relationships rather than short‑term tactical actions.

“Operating in over 90 markets means engaging daily with different regulatory frameworks, distribution channels and consumption models,” notes Alberto Medici, Sales Director. “Our role is to make the identities of the individual companies clear and consistent across international scenarios, avoiding overlaps and enhancing the specific strengths of each brand.”

“International development should not be measured solely in terms of volumes or turnover, but in the ability to interpret markets, anticipate signals and build solid relationships over time,” Medici adds, highlighting how the shared structure allows operations to be conducted methodically, while maintaining strong territorial roots and a structured commercial approach with partners.

Territory, Expertise and Market Insight as Strategic Assets

In a global context that is complex and constantly evolving, Galassia builds its model on structure, diversification and analytical capability. Alongside day‑to‑day operations, the network develops continuous market‑monitoring activity, transforming on‑the‑ground experience into knowledge that supports strategic decision‑making.

The integration of strong Italian production realities with an organized international presence is the project’s defining characteristic. Not a contingent alliance, but a system designed to endure, built on strong territorial identities, operational expertise and a shared vision of sustainable growth.

With Galassia – World Wine Network, Italian wine strengthens its ability to speak to the world with a plural yet coordinated voice, capable of transforming global complexity into long‑term value.
