Lungarotti, a story of food and wine and hospitality

The jury decided to award Lungarotti as an “Italian wine company that for over 50 years has contributed to enhancing Umbria at an international level through its museums, the promotion of wine culture and its reception facilities”.

Chiara Lungarotti, CEO of the Torgiano company declared:

“We are happy to have received this important recognition because it rewards the commitment of my entire family in creating a virtuous circuit based on food and wine, hospitality, authentic experiences in contact with nature, protection and enhancement of the local historical and cultural heritage”.

“Wine tourism is essential for making visitors fall in love with an area. Because the guest who lives a beautiful, stimulating, relaxing and content-rich experience will become the best ambassador of that land. My father Giorgio had already intuited all this in the 1970s. In fact, he, with my mother Maria Grazia, was one of the first in Italy to understand that the trinomial wine-hospitality-culture could represent the key to promoting Umbria and making it attractive from a tourist point of view”.

Lungarotti from Torgiano wins the “Best Contribution to Tourism” award at the London Wine Fair. A story of food and wine and hospitality.

“Thanks to his foresight, today Torgiano can boast a well-kept and preserved agricultural landscape, an urban architecture that has been philologically restored and made functional to the needs of modern hospitality, and two museum itineraries, the Torgiano Wine Museum (Muvit) and the of the Olive and Oil (Moo), now known throughout the world, founded on historical, archival and museographic research of exemplary rigor. We offer those who come to Torgiano the opportunity to live an immersive experience that includes wine tours, tastings of our wines and typical products, stays in our farmhouse among the vineyards and guided visits to museums. A tourism that combines culture, nature and quality food and wine.”
