Merano WineFestival and Vinitaly: the Amphora Revolution joint venture is born

Years of experience, research and passion in the field of amphora wines: it is with this heritage that Merano WineFestival and Vinitaly launch the first joint venture between the two organisations. The idea is simple: the one of an event dedicated to terracotta jars, which represents excellence at a national level. The objective, for both, is the relaunch of an ancient technique as a revolution in support of the naturalness of the product and sustainability, as well as a challenge against climate change. Thus was born Amphora Revolution, an event scheduled at the Gallerie Mercatali of Veronafiere on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th June 2024.

Amphora Revolution is the new project born from the collaboration between Merano WineFestival and Vinitaly, the first joint venture between the two organizations.

An event of excellence not only aimed at bringing together a selection of the best wines in amphora at a national level. Scheduled in Verona on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th June at the Gallerie Mercatali of Veronafiere, the event will bring together producers, oenologists and opinion leaders through a scientific convention, symposium, round tables and masterclasses.

In fact, Amphora Revolution wants to position itself as the first national and international reference thanks to the presence of amphora producers from all over Italy, together with a series of technical-scientific conferences and symposiums which will have the aim of describing the charm of these winemaking techniques “ancient”, but incredibly current.

At Vinitaly 2024, from 14th to 17th April, the project will be officially presented through a specific masterclass conducted by The WineHunter Helmuth Köcher, patron of Merano WineFestival, which will aim to preview the excellence of the wines produced through the ancient technique of using terracotta jars.
