A special edition for the release of the new Netflix series that brings a classic of Sicilian literature to the small screen. On the occasion of the launch of the series Il Gattopardo, which will be released in all countries where the service is available in six episodes on March 5, 2025, Donnafugata presents the exclusive Mille e una Notte 2021 Special Edition created in collaboration with the streaming giant.
“This synergy is a source of great pride for us,” says José Rallo of Donnafugata. “With Mille e Una Notte 2021 Special Edition we want to tell the heart and soul of Sicily, just like Netflix does with the series Il Gattopardo. Proof that wine is a true vehicle of culture.”
Collaboration with Netflix for the series Il Gattopardo: Donnafugata launches Mille e una Notte 2021 Special Edition
The Netflix series Il Gattopardo is inspired by Tomasi di Lampedusa’s masterpiece, in which Donnafugata is the name of the protagonist’s properties. The wine wanted by the streaming giant to pay homage to this story set in the heart of western Sicily, in the “lands of the Gattopardo”, right where the vineyards of Sicilian reality are, could only be from the Rallo family company.
This is where small, prestigious productions are born, such as Mille e una Notte, Tancredi, Angheli and Sedàra, wines that pay homage to a great classic of Italian literature. A further and important milestone in the dialogue between wine and cultural heritage.
Mille e Una Notte was born from the dream of Giacomo and Gabriella Rallo, founders of Donnafugata: thus begins the story of a great red that redefines the perception of Sicilian wine at an international level, embodying the artisanal approach of the company, which today symbolizes the elegant Sicilianity found in the Netflix series Il Gattopardo. As in the plot of the series, each bottle contains a story that crosses the landscapes of Sicily in a timeless atmosphere, transforming each sip into a journey through the deepest roots of the island.
“Through this special partnership, Donnafugata intends to strengthen its role as an ambassador of Made in Italy,” explains José Rallo.

From the beginning, Donnafugata has linked its corporate identity to art. Sicily, with the colors of the Mediterranean landscape, suggests a constant search for beauty in places where history and literature are inextricably intertwined. The historic label of Mille e una Notte is enriched with elegant baroque details, to pay homage to a timeless story that has influenced Italian and international culture, proof that this partnership strengthens the dialogue between art and wine.
With its unique essence, Mille e Una Notte 2021 Special Edition is a wine suitable for the most refined collector and the young wine lover looking for an authentic taste experience.
“The 2021 vintage of Mille e Una Notte stands out for its extraordinary elegance,” says Antonio Rallo of Donnafugata. “The favorable conditions of the year, the care that we all invest in the work in the field and in the meticulous winemaking and refinement processes, make Mille e una Notte Special Edition 2021 the perfect wine to tell the story of Sicily to the world.”
Mille e Una Notte 2021 Special Edition is not just a wine: it is a declaration of love for Sicily, capable of combining the visual storytelling of Netflix with the craftsmanship and innovation of Donnafugata.
