Montelvini continues to grow thanks to exports from the US to Africa

Montelvini, the ambassador winery of the Asolo Montello DOCG, continues its run. In 2024, the Veneto company strengthened its presence on international markets, thanks to an increase in exports between the US and Africa, focusing on new consumer trends: quality wines in sustainable and low-alcohol packaging. A new record in turnover was thus achieved, with the growth in turnover that in 2025 aims to be confirmed also thanks to new investments worth 3 million euros.

“We are extremely proud to announce that in 2024 our winery recorded an increase in turnover of 6.5%, exceeding 32 million euros”, underlines Sarah Serena, general manager of Montelvini. “This result is particularly significant considering the economic situation, characterized by slow economic growth in Italy and a global slowdown also in the wine sector. Despite the economic challenges, we have managed to expand our foreign markets and achieve excellent results”.

With an EBITDA exceeding 12% and with the export share marking an increase of approximately 20%, one of the main drivers of growth is the foreign market, which today represents 45% of the turnover, consolidating a trend that sees the company increasingly as a protagonist at an international level.

In particular, Montelvini, ambassador winery of the Asolo Montello DOCG, has strengthened its presence in the United States and Japan, two strategic markets that continue to show strong interest in Italian bubbles. At the same time, confirming the ability to adapt to evolving contexts and to seize favorable market dynamics, the company has started operations in new emerging areas, such as Turkey and some African countries, and has recorded positive signs of recovery in Ukraine.

One of the main objectives of the winery is to be at the forefront, capable of responding to the new needs of the market and consumers, who require innovative consumption methods, capable of combining quality and sustainability. Keg wine, distributed under the Monvin brand, is an example of this, and Montelvini was one of the first producers in Italy to work to raise its quality level. Once perceived as lower quality than bottled wine, today it represents a premium proposal that embodies the future of the wine market: quality wines in packaging that respects the environment and people.

“Abroad, there is a greater awareness and keg wine is recognized as a conscious choice, capable of combining excellence and sustainability,” continues Alberto Serena, CEO of Montelvini. “We firmly believe in this vision, following the example of my father Armando, so much so that we have also started producing a low-alcohol version that will be presented at Vinitaly.”

“Looking to the future, Montelvini will continue to invest with determination to improve the quality and sustainability of production,” adds Sarah Serena. “Despite the winds of war, duties and new driving rules, in 2025 we will allocate 3 million euros for the construction of a new autoclave area, which will allow us to expand and improve the production of our sparkling wines. In addition, we will install a new purifier, a fundamental step to reduce our environmental impact and promote increasingly sustainable practices. These investments represent our constant commitment to excellence and sustainability, values that guide us every day in our work. We thank all our customers, partners and collaborators for their continued support and trust”.

Investments are not limited to the production sector. In 2024, a new wine shop open to the public was inaugurated, located next to the winery headquarters, in front of Villa Adriana, the historic family villa recently renovated to better accommodate guests, dedicating an incoming area to customers and enthusiasts.

The well-being of workers and the enhancement of the territory remain, finally, central values for Montelvini. Every year, a corporate welfare account is guaranteed to support workers, supported by initiatives in favor of the community to which they belong. For the next two years, considering the strong bond with Asolo, the will was to support, among others, the Accademia Eleonora Duse, Centro Sperimentale di Cinema e Arti Performative, which will symbolically bring Montelvini on its tour around Europe.
