Pasqua Vini: full of awards and recognitions in view of the centenary in 2025

While waiting to celebrate the first 100 years since its birth, Pasqua Vini is already toasting a success that brings one of the Icons of the Veronese wine reality into the spotlight with an absolute first for the label: Mai Dire Mai Amarone della Valpolicella 2016, one of the most revolutionary wine projects of the winery in Valpolicella, wins the Tre Bicchieri of the Gambero Rosso Vini d’Italia 2025 guide, putting the highest recognition around its neck for the fifth time. But this is not the only success put on the showcase for Pasqua Vini. In fact, there are several projects of the Veronese winery to which Italian and international critics have awarded medals and top-of-the-class scores, rewarding the philosophy of the Veneto company to renew the pre-established rules of the sector, giving life to innovative expressions that are always faithful to the identity of the territory and its vineyards.

“As we prepare to celebrate the first 100 years of our company, we do not lose sight of the objective that we have always been committed to respecting: to tell the story of the richness and value of our lands, through wine projects that are always different,” comments Umberto Pasqua, president of Pasqua Vini.

“The evaluations by critics are a continuous stimulus for us to grow and improve. We are happy with the results achieved in 2024 too, starting with the Tre Bicchieri awarded to our Mai Dire Mai 2016, which rewards an innovative interpretation of a denomination that has always been rooted in tradition.”

Soon to celebrate the centenary of its foundation, Pasqua Vini sees its flagship wines, the Icons, fill up on recognitions also in 2024 from Italian and international critics.

Starting, as mentioned, with Mai Dire Mai 2016, which receives the Tre Bicchieri from the Vini d’Italia 2025 guide signed by Gambero Rosso, confirming how Pasqua’s most ambitious and radical project in the interpretation of Amarone is now recognized as a great wine “out of time”.

In the recent past, the Veronese winery had achieved the highest recognition on 10 other occasions, five of which with the label awarded again this year:

  • 2004 Edition – Amarone Terre di Cariano Cecilia Beretta 1999
  • 2009 Edition – Amarone Terre di Cariano Cecilia Beretta 2004
  • 2018 Edition – Amarone Famiglia Pasqua 2013
  • 2019 Edition – Amarone Mai Dire Mai 2011
  • 2020 Edition – Amarone Mai Dire Mai 2012
  • 2021 Edition – Amarone Mai Dire Mai 2013
  • 2022 Edition – Amarone Famiglia Pasqua Riserva 2013
  • 2023 Edition – Amarone Mai Dire Mai 2015
  • 2024 Edition – Amarone Cascina San Vincenzo 2018
  • 2025 Edition – Amarone Mai Dire Mai 2016

Mai Dire Mai 2016 also received 94 points from DoctorWine’s Essential Guide to Italian Wines, the crown from Vini Buoni d’Italia and the gold medal from Merano Wine Hunter.

The results of the other symbolic wines of the Venetian winery are no less impressive.

After its debut last year at Vinitaly, Fear No Dark 2020 – born from the challenge of translating the characteristics of the most secluded part of Montevegro, the extraordinary vineyard where Mai Dire Mai is also born – conquers the gold medal of The Drink Business Global Cabernet Sauvignon Masters 2024 across the Channel, while in Italy it obtains 94 points from DoctorWine’s Essential Guide to Italian Wines and the gold medal and Best Veneto IGT award from Wow! The Italian Wine Competition by Civiltà del Bere.

Again, Daniele Cernilli for DoctorWine assigns 95 points with a smiley face to Famiglia Pasqua Amarone della Valpolicella 2019 which also wins the gold medal once again from Merano Wine Hunter.

Wow! The Italian Wine Competition by Civiltà del Bere then awards the fourth edition of Hey French with another gold medal.

These awards are proof of how the winery is firmly rooted in tradition, even with more classic interpretations of Amarone, but at the same time always projects its gaze towards the future: proof of this is the first still multi-vintage white ever produced in Italy.

Internationally, Wine Enthusiast awards 90 points to PassioneSentimento Bianco Romeo&Juliet, the same score that Decanter assigns to Cecilia Beretta’s Amarone Terre di Cariano 2017 and James Suckling to Cascina San Vincenzo 2018, Pasqua Vini’s Amarone that is born from the organic farming project. The latter also won the gold medal at the Concours Mondial in Brussels.

The list of awards received by Pasqua for this year is currently closed by the 91 points assigned by Vinous to 11 Minutes 2023, a label that pioneered a new way of conceiving rosé winemaking in Italy.

“The awards we receive in Italy and abroad, starting with the Tre Bicchieri del Gambero Rosso, demonstrate how history and know-how, love for our origins and openness to the world, which so strongly characterize us, can be the path that characterizes us and rewards us also in the future”, concludes Riccardo Pasqua, CEO of the Veronese winery, commenting on the awards received.

“Pasqua Vini will soon enter its century of life and we want to continue to innovate to look to the future, telling the story of the terroir in the way we like best: creating great wines that will enter our history as milestones and will determine the Pasqua of the coming years”.
