Pinot Grigio Doc Delle Venezie Named Official Wine of Vinitaly & The City 2026

The Pinot Grigio Doc Delle Venezie will be the Official Wine of Vinitaly & The City 2026, the off‑salon event that each year transforms the historic center of Verona into a widespread stage dedicated to wine and culture. The choice significantly strengthens the Consortium’s strategy, securing a high‑visibility presence at the very moment when the city draws international attention thanks to Vinitaly.

The opening toast on April 10, as well as the initiatives animating the Loggia di Fra Giocondo and Piazza dei Signori until April 12, will spotlight the iconic white wine of Northeastern Italy. Tastings, meetings and institutional storytelling will present the style of Pinot Grigio Doc Delle Venezie and its connection to the territory, in a setting that enables encounters with trade operators, media and wine lovers in one of the city’s most representative locations.

President Rigotti: “A strategic choice that affirms identity and territory”

For the Consortium, this collaboration is not merely a promotional opportunity but a key step in positioning the Denomination.
“This partnership represents for the Consortium a strategic positioning choice: we aim to consolidate the identity value of the denomination and strengthen its perception on the markets through high‑profile institutional contexts,” says Luca Rigotti, President of the Consorzio Doc Delle Venezie.
“Being the Official Wine of Vinitaly & The City has a double significance: on one hand it increases the prestige of the DOC; on the other, it reinforces our bond with the Triveneto territory, where Verona stands as one of the most iconic and visited cities in the world for beauty, art and historical‑artistic heritage. At a time when global attention is focused on Italian wine,” Rigotti continues, “Pinot Grigio Doc Delle Venezie presents itself as the flag of an integrated, dynamic and responsible production system, capable of combining scale, quality and certification.”

Pinot Grigio Doc Delle Venezie: the largest wine supply chain of Northeastern Italy

The strength of the Doc Delle Venezie project is confirmed by its scale: Italy’s largest denomination by surface area and the leading still white wine for export, today the most consumed Pinot Grigio in the world.

The denomination brings together Veneto, Friuli Venezia Giulia and the Autonomous Province of Trento, forming Italy’s largest interregional integration model. It covers 27,000 hectares, represents 43% of the world’s Pinot Grigio and 85% of Italy’s, with a production of around 230 million bottles. The supply chain includes 6,141 winegrowers, 575 winemaking companies and 371 bottlers, numbers that reflect its weight and responsibility in global markets.

Director Sequino: “Reinforcing recognizability and distinctiveness”

“Institutional promotion is first of all meant to highlight what makes our denomination unique and to communicate the values, quality and authenticity of the DOC Delle Venezie,” says Stefano Sequino, Director of the Consortium.

“The partnership with Vinitaly & The City is a valuable opportunity to reach a broad and diverse audience that will be able to discover and taste, in Piazza dei Signori within our wine bar, a rich selection of labels representative of the unique style of Pinot Grigio Doc Delle Venezie: a fresh, moderately alcoholic and versatile wine, suited to all consumption occasions, capable of interpreting in a contemporary key the values of Italian conviviality and food‑and‑wine culture.”

Pinot Grigio Doc Delle Venezie also on stage at Vinitaly: Pavilion 5/F2 as an institutional hub

The Consorzio Doc Delle Venezie will also take part in Vinitaly, from April 12 to 15, 2026, with an exhibition space in Pavilion 5/F2, designed to welcome professionals and stakeholders. It will be a space dedicated to presenting the territory of the three areas, guiding operators through the associated companies and offering an overview of the various labels available for tasting, expressions of the contemporary style of Pinot Grigio Doc Delle Venezie.
