Prosecco is containing the impact of tariffs and is ready to accelerate, with demand gaining momentum and orders estimated to grow by +4% ahead of Easter 2026 compared to the previous year. “Prosecco is one of the strongest symbols of Veneto worldwide and the result of collective work built over time. Veneto has established itself globally thanks to this wine, rich in aromas, freshness and balance, which must be continuously enhanced, narrated and protected in its identity. The real challenge today is not growth itself, but the ability to continue safeguarding this heritage without ever taking it for granted,” stated Settimio Pizzolato, President of the Wine, Spirits and Liqueurs Group of Confindustria Veneto Est.

Prosecco: Data Confirm the Strength of the System
Prosecco DOC closed 2025 with 667 million bottles bottled (+1.1% compared to 2024) and over 82% of production destined for export, with an estimated production value exceeding €3 billion.
Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG recorded around 98 million bottles (+8% compared to 2024), confirming the central role of quality and territorial identity.
Asolo Prosecco DOCG continues to be the most dynamic denomination, with over 32 million bottles bottled and growth of 16% compared to 2024.
In the first two months of 2026, Prosecco DOC registered a technical decline in bottling compared to the same period of 2025. Again Settimio Pizzolato explains:
“This phenomenon does not indicate a drop in demand: cellar stocks increased by +5.8%, demonstrating that companies managed bottling in order to allow foreign markets, particularly the United States, to absorb inventories accumulated in the first months of 2025 to hedge against potential tariffs.”
Outlook Starting With Easter
While the first two months of the year showed this technical slowdown, data on inventories and the strong flow of orders ahead of Easter 2026—with an estimated +4% increase compared to the previous Easter—confirm that the system is ready for renewed acceleration. This is supported by exports that exceeded €2.2 billion in 2025, confirming the consolidation of the segment.
France recorded double‑digit growth (+18%), confirming its position as the third most profitable global market for the denomination after the United States and the United Kingdom.
“The Veneto wine sector has already demonstrated strong resilience and adaptability in recent years,” concluded Settimio Pizzolato. “We remain attentive to the global context: current economic and geopolitical instability affects raw material and energy costs, with direct consequences for producers. This is why joint work among the three consortia—the Consorzio di Tutela del Prosecco DOC, the Consorzio di Tutela del Conegliano Valdobbiadene Prosecco Superiore DOCG, and the Consorzio di Tutela dell’Asolo Prosecco DOCG—together with companies and cooperatives, is essential. Only through a shared vision, founded on quality and coherence, can we continue to generate real value: for the product, for the territory, and for the communities it represents.”
