Ricasoli joins Ethica Wines’ US portfolio

Ethica Wines continues its run, increasingly confirming itself as a reference for the distribution of top Italian wines in the US, Canada and APAC. The company founded in 2016 by Francesco Ganz scores another coup and brings one of the most important and well-known Italian wine wineries, whose history dates back to 1141, to the US market. The Ricasoli family has, in fact, chosen to entrust Ethica Wines with the exclusive import of its wines to the US, after having long since given them the mandate for the Asian market.

“In this case too, we have found a perfect harmony with the Ricasoli family that rests on solid shared foundations,” underlines Francesco Ganz, CEO of Ethica Wines. “The strong roots in the territory, research and experimentation, together with attention to sustainability, are the guiding principles that have allowed the Ricasoli family to maintain and consolidate its role as ambassadors of great Tuscan wines for centuries and that today we are happy to represent in the markets in which we operate.”

Ricasoli: a story of innovation and tradition that has continued for centuries

Located in the heart of Chianti Classico, the Ricasoli family has contributed decisively to defining the identity of this historic denomination. Its history dates back to 1141, making it one of the oldest wineries in the world.

In the 19th century, Baron Bettino Ricasoli codified the Chianti Classico formula, establishing the winemaking principles that have shaped Tuscan and international winemaking. This legacy has been passed down from generation to generation, maintaining the perfect balance between respect for tradition and innovation.

Today, under the guidance of Francesco Ricasoli, the company continues to stand out for its scientific and innovative approach to viticulture and winemaking. Through in-depth research on soils and varieties, Ricasoli has identified parcels suited to the production of high-end wines, contributing to the creation of iconic crus such as Colledilà, Roncicone and CeniPrimo, the maximum expression of Sangiovese.

“We are happy to have partners in America who are not only professional but all Italian by birth who therefore know our culture and synergistically share our production philosophy and our thousand-year history. We will do great things together,” adds Francesco Ricasoli.

The winery owns over 1,200 hectares, of which 240 are vineyards and 26 are olive groves, all located in the historic heart of Chianti Classico. The varied terrain and different altitudes allow for the production of wines with great personality and depth. Its most famous labels, such as Castello di Brolio, Brolio Riserva and the crus mentioned above, represent the essence of Tuscan viticulture.

In addition to wine production, Ricasoli is committed to enhancing its historical and landscape heritage. Castello di Brolio, the symbol of the company, is not only the production site, but a point of reference for international wine tourism. Visitors can immerse themselves in the history of the Ricasoli family, taste excellent wines and discover the breathtaking beauty of the Tuscan landscape.
