A new era begins for one of the symbols of Sicilian wine: on May 16, 2025, an official note issued by Gruppo Italiano Vini announces, Tenute Rapitalà has been 100% acquired by Giv. Laurent Bernard de la Gatinais thus leaves the scene, concluding his long and valuable collaborative relationship with the company founded by his family in 1968. Gruppo Italiano Vini effectively becomes the sole shareholder of the company consisting of 176 hectares of organic vineyards in the territory that slopes from Camporeale towards Alcamo, in the province of Palermo, which from today will have the lawyer Nino Caleca as its new president.

Rapitalà is 100% owned by Gruppo Italiano Vini. The acquisition of all the shares marks the completion of a journey that has its roots in time: among the largest Italian wine producers with over 1,600 hectares of vineyards and 14 wineries, Giv has held the majority shares of the Sicilian estate since 1999.
“The new and growing challenges on the national and international markets that our Group faces on a daily basis”, the words of Gruppo Italiano Vini President Corrado Casoli together with General Manager Roberta Corrà, following the operation, “require new strategies and involve the search for synergies that increasingly support the development of our brands and their valorization. The complete acquisition of Rapitalà is therefore part of this vision, with the certainty of continuing the success story of the Winery”.
