The Comité Champagne’s online course to become an expert on the French sparkling wine arrives in Italy

Champagne E-Learning, the new online training tool to become an expert on the most famous and beloved French sparkling wine, is now also available in Italian. The online course arrives in Italy, designed primarily for professionals, and enriches the offer of the Champagne Education platform, the first complete training program created by the Comité Champagne. Registration is completely free.

“Champagne E-Learning offers a 360° view of the world of Champagne through a dynamic and fun teaching approach,” emphasizes Stéphanie Martel, Head of the Training Department of the Comité Champagne. “The goal of the Comité Champagne is to strengthen the skills of professionals who play a key role in the valorization and sale of Champagne and to promote the excellence of this emblematic denomination in France and throughout the world.”

“We are certain that Champagne E-Learning will also be welcomed with enthusiasm in Italy, as was the case for the previous Mooc platform. In five years, in fact, almost 4,000 Italian users have signed up for our previous online course. A result that has brought Italy to third place in terms of number of registered users, after France and the United States and that has contributed to the global success of the project, which has gathered a total of over 36,000 participants from 2019 to today”.

How the Comité Champagne online course works to become an expert in the French sparkling wine

Campagne E-Learning is divided into three different learning levels, designed to meet the skills of all participants: starting from the level of “Explorer” to get to “Expert”, passing through “Connoisseur”, on a journey of knowledge that will lead students to discover and delve into all the secrets of Champagne, from history to terroir, from the processing method to the tasting technique. At the end of each level, a test will allow you to evaluate your progress and obtain a certification. The first two levels are already available, while the third will be accessible from September.

The course is completely interactive, is made up of content ranging from videos to games, from infographics to quizzes and can be completed in about five hours. It is accessible at any time from computers, smartphones and tablets and is also available in French, English, German, Japanese and Spanish. The platform is intended for all those who work in the wine sector – sommeliers, oenologists, wine merchants, buyers, journalists, agents, tourism professionals, trainers, students – and enthusiasts from all over the world.

Champagne E-Learning complements the training offering that the Comité Champagne makes available through the Champagne Education platform, which each year offers direct in-person training to more than 6,000 professionals in 16 different countries. In addition to E-Learning, the portal also features a large section of free downloadable teaching resources and a quiz and game area designed to test knowledge. Champagne Education also represents the starting point for classroom training, available in two ways. The first is the “Champagne Specialist” path, which allows you to obtain the official Comité Champagne certification, delivered through a global network of selected partner centers. The second is customized training, to meet the specific needs of distributors, wine shops, hotel groups, restaurateurs and hotel school teachers. In this case, you can contact the Bureau in Italy directly to access the training programs organized on the national territory.
