The Coravin Guide Arrives in Italy: Milan Is the First Stop for the Global By-the-Glass Wine Guide

For over ten years, Coravin, Inc. has revolutionized the way wine is tasted and served, allowing professionals and enthusiasts to enjoy any label at any time without having to open the entire bottle. Today, the company strengthens its role as an ambassador for “by-the-glass wine consumption” by introducing The Coravin Guide, the first and only digital guide dedicated to the best wine lists served “by the glass” worldwide.

The Coravin Guide lands in Italy

After London, Sydney, Melbourne, the Netherlands, and California, the guide now lands in Italy, choosing Milan as its first stop. This international project highlights the most interesting restaurants, bars, hotels, and private clubs where sommeliers and experts offer high-level wine experiences thanks to an extensive selection of labels.

“Wine by the glass should represent the freedom to explore, not a limitation—and that’s exactly why I invented Coravin more than ten years ago,” says Greg Lambrecht, founder of Coravin. “Too often, people give up on trying a great wine because opening a bottle feels like a commitment. With The Coravin Guide, we want to showcase places that share our philosophy: offering the opportunity to taste, discover, and appreciate wine one glass at a time.”

Three Categories and Hidden Gems: How the Classification Works

Selected venues are categorized through a classification system that evaluates the breadth and variety of their offerings:

  • One Glass: 20 to 40 wines by the glass
  • Two Glasses: 41 to 60 selections
  • Three Glasses: more than 60 labels

Alongside these categories are Greg’s Hidden Gems—smaller lists that are highly inspiring, featuring rare and original selections.

The guide, searchable by geographic area, occasion, or wine style, is an intuitive and dynamic tool for those looking to discover quality wine experiences both in Italy and abroad.

“We observe every day how wine consumption is evolving toward the concept of ‘drink less but better’ and toward an ever-deeper curiosity for wine exploration,” adds Dave Krupinski, CEO of Coravin. “We identified the need for a platform that celebrates quality, variety, and accessibility in by-the-glass wine. The Coravin Guide is our way of connecting wine lovers with the people and places redefining the wine experience.”
