The Delle Venezie DOC Consortium, leading the leading Italian still white wine export market, welcomes the adoption by the College of EU Commissioners of the EU-Mercosur Partnership Agreement, which aims to promote free trade between member countries and Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, and Paraguay, and the modernization of the global agreement with Mexico.
The opening of these strategic markets — which includes, among other things, the reduction of tariff barriers and greater protection of designations of origin — represents a concrete opportunity for the Italian wine sector, including the Delle Venezie Pinot Grigio DOC, the leading Italian still white wine exported in volumes, already the focus of promotional activities in Latin America.
Brazil and Mexico are indeed two strategic markets for the Consortium, where recent promotional campaigns implemented thanks to CMO funds have achieved very positive results in terms of visibility and networking opportunities. In light of the new agreements, the Consortium announces its presence in these markets through 2026, with the aim of further strengthening promotional activities with initiatives aimed at both trade and consumers, aimed at promoting and communicating the values of Pinot Grigio DOC Delle Venezie and the wine-growing regions of Northeast Italy.
“The EU-Mercosur and Mexico agreements represent fundamental tools and open up new and exciting prospects for our sector and for Pinot Grigio DOC Delle Venezie,” commented Luca Rigotti, President of the DOC Delle Venezie Consortium. “These tools would allow us to consolidate our presence in strategic markets in countries such as Brazil and Mexico, where we are already present with institutional promotional initiatives and where we have seen growing openness and interest in our denomination. This approach, especially in the current complex international situation,” concluded President Rigotti, “we believe is consistent with the need to address changing consumption patterns and the diversification of our target countries.”
