The promotion of Pinot Grigio DOC Delle Venezie, led by the Consortium, continues in emerging markets, particularly in Southeast Asia. On July 25th, it will be the focus of the first edition of Vietnam Best Sommelier in Italian Wines, an initiative organized by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam (ICHAM) under the patronage of the Italian Embassy in Hanoi and the Italian Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City, in collaboration with the Italian Professional Sommelier Association (ASPI) and the Vietnam Sommelier Association (VSA). The event, which will take place in Ho Chi Minh City at the prestigious The Reverie Saigon Hotel, aims to promote the excellence of Italian wines in Vietnam while also highlighting the role of the sommelier. The initiative is part of the A Taste of Italian Wines project, launched by ICHAM in 2022, and includes several selection phases culminating in a prestigious final and a gala dinner attended by authorities, press, and stakeholders from the wine and restaurant sectors.
“The Vietnamese market represents one of the most dynamic and interesting realities in Southeast Asia, and our goal is to support and showcase our regional and cultural identity, sharing knowledge of the Triveneto wine-growing regions and the values of Pinot Grigio DOC Delle Venezie in terms of freshness, versatility, and contemporary style,” explains Stefano Sequino, director of the DOC Delle Venezie Consortium.
“This is a strategic initiative that we are pursuing thanks to the collaboration with the Italian Chamber of Commerce in Vietnam,” continues Sequino, “with the aim of creating new networks with a specialized audience of buyers, press, and industry professionals.”
Vietnam Best Sommelier in Italian Wines: Pinot Grigio DOC Delle Venezie takes center stage in the first edition
During the Vietnam Best Sommelier in Italian Wines event, Pinot Grigio DOC Delle Venezie will be present with a tasting stand and at the center of a dedicated masterclass, led by Brand Ambassador Paul Vo. During this event, the audience of food and wine professionals will be guided through the iconic and distinctive style of the world’s most consumed Italian still white wine through a tasting of a selection of labels.
Following its debut and extremely positive response last year, this is a unique opportunity to continue to convey the characteristics and identity of the appellation to the Vietnamese market. This is an important step in the ever-expanding promotion of Pinot Grigio DOC Delle Venezie in non-EU countries.
