Venturini Baldini launches its first Classic Method Lambrusco

Tenuta di Roncolo, a historic organic estate located in the heart of the Terre di Canossa in Quattro Castella, in the province of Reggio Emilia, continues its project to enhance the Emilian hills and its historic vines. The estate expands the line of Classic Method Sparkling Wines with the introduction of a new brut sparkling wine: the Venturini Baldini Classic Method Lambrusco, Lambrusco Emilia Igp, made with Lambrusco Salamino and Grasparossa grapes.

“Our wines reflect the essence of our territory thanks to the selection of native vines and the adoption of innovative winemaking methods. The Classic Method Lambrusco is another expression of this philosophy: an organic and indigenous sparkling wine, elevated by a traditional production method”, explains Julia Prestia, at the helm of the Estate. “We want to interpret the thousand facets of the territory and celebrate its continually evolving heritage with an innovative and contemporary approach. This new sparkling wine represents the genuineness of Emilian wine”.

Venturini Baldini launches its first Classic Method Lambrusco, Emilia Igp, made with Salamino and Grasparossa grapes from Tenuta di Roncolo.

Lambrusco according to Venturini Baldini

Since the beginning, with Rubino del Cerro, a dry Lambrusco sparkling wine, Tenuta di Roncolo has been a point of reference for high-quality dry Lambrusco wines, also recognized for winemaking according to the champenois method since 1996. Today, Venturini Baldini continues this tradition with the Classic Method of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay grapes, now adding the Classic Method Lambrusco.

“We select the best Lambrusco Salamino and Grasparossa grapes grown on our estate and harvested by hand. After the first fermentation, we bottle the sparkling wine base with sugar syrup and yeasts, where it will referment and refine for at least 36 months, before moving on to disgorgement and a further rest of 60 days in the bottle”, explains Piergiuseppe Carucci, winemaker of the estate since 2021. “The result is an elegant and soft wine, with an excellent structure thanks to prolonged refinement, a fine and persistent bubble, and a fresh finish”.

The Venturini Baldini Classic Method Lambrusco is a fresh, savory red sparkling wine with well-balanced acidity, ideal as an aperitif or in combination with first courses such as risotto alla parmigiana, second courses of meat and fish, such as cacciucco or smoked fish .

This new sparkling wine enriches the line of champenois method sparkling wines from the Quattro Castella winery, which had debuted with the Venturini Baldini Metodo Classico Brut, a white wine made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, and the Venturini Baldini Metodo Classico Extra Brut Rosé, an award-winning rosé sparkling wine produced with pure Pinot Noir.
