Diplomatic networking with American institutions by Veronafiere – Vinitaly intensifies. The occasion is that of the 248th anniversary of Independence Day celebrated on 27th June at Villa Taverna in Rome, in the residence of the Ambassador of the United States of America in Italy, Jack Markell (in the cover photo), with Veronafiere and its brand of promoting Italian wine in the world, sponsor of the official reception which, as usual, also anticipates the national holiday of July 4th in the USA in the representative offices in our country. “Our support for the US Embassy event in Rome consolidates an institutional alliance that further strengthens the relationships between the Verona Fiera SpA and the first outlet market for Italian wine”, comments the president of Veronafiere, Federico Bricolo, “ and takes on important importance just a few months before the debut of Vinitaly USA in Chicago, on 20 and 21 October”.

“A key positioning that identifies in this metropolis a strategic bridge between Italy and the first destination for Made in Italy wine which, in 2023, totaled approximately 2 billion dollars in imports. All this, without forgetting that the Chicago market is also suitable for intercepting buyers from neighboring Canada, with further growth opportunities for our companies”.

The Foreign Minister, Antonio Tajani, also took part in the evening for the 248th anniversary of Independence Day in Rome, who in his speech also referred to the commercial alliance between Italy and the USA. In particular, Tajani said that “Italy and the United States, together, have started to run”, recalling last year’s first edition of Vinitaly in Chicago and underlining the importance of Made in Italy agri-food as a fundamental element of Italian exports.

The Veronafiere delegation, in addition to the president Bricolo, was made up of the vice president, Romano Artoni, the board of directors, Mario Veronesi and the general director, Adolfo Rebughini. Also present were the mayor of Verona, Damiano Tommasi, and the president of Ice Agenzia, Matteo Zoppas.

Vinitaly USA: what the b2b event in Chicago on 20 and 21 October will be like

After last year’s zero edition, Vinitaly USA returns on 20 and 21 October. In the iconic Navy Pier exhibition center, the b2b event aims to become the first Italian wine fair on American soil, with the signing of a compact cooperation between Veronafiere, Ice Agency and the Italian American Chamber of Commerce based in Chicago .

Among the objectives of the event is to reach 11 thousand square meters of exhibition space and to double both the contingent of Italian companies and that of American buyers compared to the last edition and at the same time to increase the two-way promotion program.

In fact, also for the Chicago event, Veronafiere confirms Vinitaly’s development plan which on the one hand contemplates the growth of Italian companies in an area with ample growth margins, and on the other the profiling and selection of buyers and distributors in view of Vinitaly 2025 in Verona (from 6 to 9 April, 57th edition).

An incoming activity which at the last Vinitaly, in April this year, confirmed the pole position of the United States in the ranking of presences of foreign operators with 3,700 American buyers at the fair (+8% compared to 2023).

The two-day Chicago program includes masterclasses led by the main international magazines in the sector, walk around tastings, seminars and market focuses and three sessions of the Vinitaly international Academy.
