Vino Nobile di Montepulciano: the US tour was a success

Vino Nobile di Montepulciano: a growing international market

For the Consorzio del Vino Nobile di Montepulciano, the trip to the US saw the creation of tastings and masterclasses involving sector operators. The Vino Nobile di Montepulciano market, also in 2023, was represented by further growth in value.

As far as abroad is concerned, there is a pie divided in half between Europe and non-EU countries. 35% of exports go to America (between North and South), 29.2% to Europe (excluding Italy).

Germany continues to be Nobile’s first market with 38% of the export share. The United States is continuously growing, also compared to 2022, representing 27.5% of the export of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.

Success also for the Asian, Balkan and non-EU markets with over 3% of exports. Canada’s growth trend continues, which alone is worth around 5% of exports. As regards exports, last year it represented 66% (in previous years it had reached 78%), while the remaining 34% is marketed in Italy.

Direct sales in the company continue the growth trend of recent years, which in 2023 has now exceeded 30%. Furthermore, as regards the national market, the main sales are recorded in central Italy (61%) and in particular in Tuscany for 42%. 33% is sold in the North and 6.30% in the South.
