WBWE 2025: The Future of Bulk Wine Takes the Stage in Amsterdam

On November 24 and 25, 2025, the Rai Amsterdam will host the 17th edition of the World Bulk Wine Exhibition (WBWE), the most important international event dedicated to the world of bulk wines and spirits. Organized by Vinexposium, a global leader in wine industry events for professionals, WBWE 2025 reaffirms its role as a strategic appointment for a sector that today accounts for roughly one-third of the global wine market. In a context marked by economic and environmental challenges, bulk wine is increasingly emerging as a competitive and sustainable solution.

For over 15 years, WBWE has supported the growth of this segment, now driven by innovative formats such as bag-in-box, cans, and kegs, the success of no/low-alcohol and ready-to-drink products, and the rising demand for efficient and accessible solutions.

“The bulk wine market is a strategic lever for the industry, at the crossroads of competitiveness, flexibility, and sustainability. By organizing the World Bulk Wine Exhibition, Vinexposium has broadened the scope of this event and strengthened its role, creating a strategic meeting point where buyers and producers identify concrete solutions and jointly help shape the future of the sector,” emphasizes Rodolphe Lameyse, CEO of Vinexposium.

Italy will be present with over 20 exhibitors, confirming its position among the leading players in the sector. On average, Italy imports around 1 million hectoliters of bulk wine per year, approximately 80% of which comes from Spain.

However, in the first half of 2025, imports from the Iberian Peninsula dropped by 26.6% in volume and 20.3% in value, settling at around 80.3 million liters. In contrast, imports from France increased by 65% in volume and 44% in value, reaching 8.3 million liters and 7 million euros (source: Rafael del Rey AWM).

WBWE 2025 in Numbers: A Global and Expanding Trade Fair

WBWE 2025 will host over 240 producers from 25 countries and buyers from more than 60 markets, covering 70–80% of global bulk wine and spirits trade. Alongside long-standing participants such as Spain, France, Italy, Chile, New Zealand, Australia, South Africa, and the United States, newcomers Mauritius, Lebanon, and Panama will make their debut, further expanding the international reach of the event.

The range of offerings will be broad and diverse: appellation wines, organic wines, spirits, no/low-alcohol and ready-to-drink products, along with the latest sustainable packaging solutions designed to reduce carbon footprint and optimize logistics costs.

A Rich Program of Content and Networking Opportunities

The WBWE 2025 program includes the Silent Tasting Room, a space dedicated to free tasting of exhibitors’ products; the Academy, featuring conferences and masterclasses on current topics such as logistics, dealcoholization techniques, sustainable packaging, and the role of oak in winemaking; and the International Bulk Wine Competition (IBWC), which awards the best bulk wines and spirits through blind tastings conducted by international buyers and journalists.

A new addition for the 2025 edition is the Grand Gold Pitch, an exclusive session reserved for winners of the Grand Gold and Gold medals, who will have the opportunity to present their cuvées to the professional audience at the fair.

“These initiatives maximize the visibility of awarded producers and enhance the visitor experience by combining business, innovation, and discovery,” explains Grace Ghazalé, Head of Vinexposium Overseas Events.
