Wine to Asia: Vinitaly returns to China for a three-day b2b event

The international promotion by Vinitaly restarts from China with the second edition of Wine to Asia, the main international wine and spirits exhibition scheduled in Shenzhen, at the Convention Center (Futian), from 9 to 11 May. The three-day B2B program will feature 15 masterclasses and 5 pop up talks with Chinese wine influencers. Until May 11th, the Fuori Salone will also be on stage in 60 venues in 9 cities.

Wine to Asia: the second edition in Shenzhen from 9 to 11 May

Organized by Veronafiere in collaboration with the historic partner Shenzhen Pacco Communication, Wine to Asia 2024 already records the presence of over 500 brands (+11% compared to 2023) from 30 countries: from California to Eurasia, from Argentina to the Balkans up to to Italy represented in the tricolor pavilion promoted by Ice Agenzia with 50 companies present.

The official halls see Argentina among the exhibitors (promoted by the Argentine Consulate in Guangzhou and Wines of Argentina); China and Eurasian Countries (China Eurasian Business Council); Georgia (LEPL National Wine Agency); Italy (Ice Agency); Serbia (Open Balkan – Wine Vision); Slovenia; Uruguay (Uruguayan Consulate in Guangzhou); South Africa and Yantai.

A contingent which, again this year, consecrates the Italian hall as the largest in a fair dedicated to wine and spirits in Asia and which, at the same time, does not exhaust the offer of Made in Italy wine in the Greater Bay Area , Asia’s Silicon Valley.

In fact, in Shenzhen, thanks to the incoming activity carried out by the Italian-Chinese delegates of Veronafiere, the Franciacorta Consortium and a further 70 wineries located in the exhibition area of the event also participate. While there are six thematic areas of the second edition of Wine to Asia: Living Wine, the international area of natural wines, with the debut of the producers of Vi.Te; Hey Whiskey; Hunter Gallery; Top 100 Chinese Wines Lounge by Lili Zhu; Champagne Lounge and the VIP Lounge with the Grana Padano Consortium as exclusive partner.

The participation of the four main importers of Italian wine in the Land of the Dragon (Globally, Zefiro, Sarment and Interprocom) and of De Longhi with a new format dedicated to home design has been confirmed.

As regards the three-day programme, in addition to the B2B events, the calendar includes 5 pop-up talks with the Chinese wine influencers currently among the most accredited and 15 masterclasses, two of which led by MW Andrea Lonardi: Italianity: remarkable uniqueness of Italian wines organized by Ice and Grown from earth, aged in earth: clay-aged wines masterclass by Wine to Asia with interventions also by Cassidy Dart MW and Julien Boulard MW.

The three MWs with the Master Sommelier Lu Yang (the only one in China with this title) are also protagonists of the focus on amphora wines. An Asian preview of Amphora Revolution, the new Merano Winefestival and Vinitaly exhibition scheduled in Verona, at the Gallerie Mercatali, on June 7th and 8th.

Not just business. In fact, until May 11th, Wine to Asia will also be hosting the Fuori Salone program which, for its second edition, will be staged in almost 60 wine bars, restaurants and bistros in 9 cities (Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hong Kong, Macau, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan, Huizhou and Zhongshan) with events and initiatives for Chinese enthusiasts.
