The journey to discover the world’s best wine tourism experiences is in full swing. On November 5, The World’s 50 Best Vineyards unveiled the 2025 ranking of wineries positioned between 51st and 100th place, as a preview to the highly anticipated awards ceremony scheduled for November 19 in Margaret River, Western Australia. This sneak peek shines a spotlight on wine excellence across six continents and 38 wine regions—an expression of winemaking that combines wine, territory, and hospitality.
The World’s 50 Best Vineyards: a Global Mosaic of Wine Experiences
This year’s extended list includes 18 new entries from 17 different regions, ranging from Champagne to Tokaj, passing through Georgia, New Zealand, and Argentina. In total, 33 of the selected wineries are in Europe, followed by six in South America, five in Oceania, four in Africa, one in Asia, and one in North America.
The highest new entry is Wairau River Wines (No.52), located in the heart of Marlborough, New Zealand—a recognition that confirms the dynamism of the Oceanic wine scene.

Europe Leads the List, Italy Shines
With 33 wineries featured, Europe continues to dominate the scene, offering a mix of tradition, innovation, and hospitality.
Italy earns a place of honor with six wineries: three new entries and three re-entries.
New Italian entries include:
- Azienda Agricola Arianna Occhipinti (Sicily, No.78)
- Masi Cellars (Veneto, No.83)
- Casanova Di Neri (Tuscany, No.87)
Returning names:
- Castello Banfi (Tuscany, No.61)
- Marchesi di Barolo (Piedmont, No.80)
- Tenuta Cavalier Pepe (Irpinia, No.81)
The national record, however, belongs to Portugal, which places eight wineries between positions 51–100—six of them in the Douro Valley, the beating heart of Portuguese viticulture.
From Champagne to Tokaj: Europe’s Finest
France confirms its weight with seven wineries, including icons such as Veuve Clicquot (No.51), Moët & Chandon (No.57), and Philipponnat (No.76) for Champagne, alongside Château Pichon Baron (No.60) and Cos d’Estournel (No.97) in Bordeaux.
Spain stands out with Bodegas Arzuaga (No.64), Bodegas Muga (No.53), and Bodegas Granbazán (No.86), while Hungary shines again with Tokaj-Hétszőlő Organic Vineyards (No.58) and Disznókő (No.63).
Georgia makes its debut with Château Buera (No.72) and Château Mukhrani (No.75).
New Horizons: Africa, Oceania, and the Americas
Beyond Europe, notable new entries come from South Africa with La Motte Wine Estate (No.94) and Hamilton Russell Vineyards (No.99), and from South America with Sitio La Estocada (No.91) in Argentina.
New Zealand confirms its role as a wine tourism leader with three new entries (Wairau River Wines, Greystone Winery, and Felton Road), while the United States returns to the ranking with Beringer Vineyards (No.88), an icon of Napa Valley.
Finally, Lebanon earns a spot with Chateau Kefraya (No.92), the only representative from the Middle East.
The World’s 50 Best Vineyards: a Global Jury
The ranking is based on votes from over 700 international experts—including sommeliers, journalists, tourism professionals, and trade specialists—divided into 20 geographic regions.
Each jury member can vote for seven wine tourism experiences open to the public, with no predefined list, ensuring a free and authentic selection of the world’s best wine destinations.
All eyes are now on the ceremony on November 19, 2025, to be held at Amelia Park Wines, in the heart of the Margaret River wine region.
The event will be streamed live on The World’s 50 Best Vineyards social channels, featuring the announcement of the global top 50 and special awards dedicated to wine tourism excellence.
