The Alta Langa Consortium ends 2025 on a high note, confirming the role of Piedmont’s Alte Bollicine as a benchmark for Italian Metodo Classico sparkling wines. Sales grew by over 10% compared to 2024, surpassing 2 million labeled bottles, while vineyard area reached 500 hectares. Potential production for Alta Langa DOCG now stands at 3.5 million bottles.
Alta Langa DOCG: Digital Innovation and Education in 2025
The year began with the launch of Alta Langa Academy, an online platform dedicated to the history, territory, and identity of the denomination. This project, the result of technical and cultural research, is designed for enthusiasts and professionals, strengthening the Consortium’s communication strategy.
Events and International Presence
2025 saw Alta Langa at the center of major events: from Slow Wine Fair in Bologna to the Prima dell’Alta Langa at Nuvola Lavazza in Turin, featuring 82 producers and over 20,000 toasts. On this occasion, Alta Langa was named Wine of the Year 2025 for the Piedmont Region.
The denomination also participated in international events such as Expo 2025 in Osaka, Vinitaly and the City in Calabria, Cheese in Bra, Artissima in Turin, Golosaria in Milan, and Dolce Vita at Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild on the French Riviera.
Another highlight was the second edition of Alta Langa Roma, with 34 wineries and the unveiling of the installation “Onde”, a symbolic narrative of the territory.
Culture, Design, and Strategic Partnerships
The Consortium strengthened ties with the worlds of design and gastronomy: at Milan Design Week, it presented the Terra glass and the Alta Langa Frappeuse in collaboration with Italdesign. It also renewed its partnership with the Teatro Regio di Torino and confirmed its role as main sponsor of the Alba International White Truffle Fair, celebrating Piedmontese excellence through cooking shows and masterclasses.
Harvest 2025: A Vintage to Frame
Described as “one for the books,” the 2025 harvest benefited from spring rains and an ideal summer, ensuring healthy, high-quality grapes.
The Alta Langa vineyard is planted two-thirds with Pinot Noir and one-third with Chardonnay, producing exclusively millesimato wines with a minimum aging of 30 months on the lees.
Looking Ahead: Alta Langa DOCG in 2026
The Consortium is preparing for a busy calendar:
