Delle Venezie DOC 2025 Balance Sheet: Stability, Governance and a Shared Vision for the Northeast Italy Pinot Grigio

The Delle Venezie DOC Protection Consortium closes 2025 confirming the denomination’s solidity and governance capabilities, in a complex market environment that now more than ever requires strategic vision, coordination and responsibility throughout the entire supply chain. Last year’s final figures show substantial stability in volumes, with 1,694,176 hectoliters of bottled wine compared to 1,707,064 hectoliters bottled during the 2024 calendar year. Certifications performed well, growing by 2.3% to a total of 1,795,738 hectoliters. These figures reflect a committed appellation, which has chosen to prioritize market balance and safeguard value.

The stability of Delle Venezie DOC, today an essential benchmark for Northeast Italy Pinot Grigio and key quality pillar for the most exported and consumed Italian white wine in the world, is the result of a precise strategy, promoted by the Consortium through an integrated and consolidated system of production management measures. These include the reduction of the maximum yield of grapes per hectare and the administrative storage, key tools for supporting the market and maintaining the balance between supply and demand throughout the supply chain. Further strengthening the planning process is the confirmation of the deadline for the reclassification from other coexisting DOCs in the interregional wine-growing area, set for April 30, 2026 for the current wine year, with the aim of anticipating and better managing the operations.

In 2025, the governance system was completed with the extension, until July 31, 2026, of the suspension of registration of Pinot Grigio vineyards in the viticulture register for the purposes of eligibility for the Delle Venezie DOC designation, promoted locally: this strategically significant initiative was presented and shared within the interregional Pinot Grigio working group, established with advisory and coordination functions and designed to bring together, in a stable and structured discussion, the Consortia that protect the DOCs of North-Eastern Italy featuring the Pinot Grigio variety, with the participation and in the presence of regional and provincial Administrations. This highly valuable project will allow for systematic and coordinated work to define a common and structural path that places the interregional Pinot Grigio viticultural heritage at the center, with the aim of protecting the supply chain and maintaining its value on the markets.

“The work of production management and coordination that the Delle Venezie DOC Consortium consistently carries on is essential to balancing the supply chain and strengthening the solidity of the Denomination over time. In a competitive environment like the international one, acting cohesively and responsibly means, even in a challenging geopolitical and economic era, helping to protect the work of producers and the territory through a shared vision, building the stability and credibility conditions that are crucial to the positioning of Pinot Grigio del Triveneto – stated Luca Rigotti, President of the Delle Venezie DOC Consortium, and continued – In this direction, the interregional working group dedicated to Pinot Grigio represents a crucial forum for discussion, in which we can work together and share our objectives”.

The Delle Venezie DOC Protection Consortium closes 2025 confirming the denomination’s solidity

In terms of institutional promotion, the Consortium continued to work both on the domestic market, with initiatives aimed at reaching new consumer targets and strengthening dialogue with large-scale distribution operators, and on third-country markets: in 2025, it again established a presence in strategic areas such as the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom, as well as in Asia and South America. This process, within the B2B and B2C segments, is being pursued with particular attention and an incremental approach, aimed at identifying markets, activities and strategic partners for Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie DOC.

At the same time, existing collaborations and projects are continuing and strengthening, while important new developments are being finalized for 2026: the Consortium will once again be a key player at Vinitaly and the City with a completely revamped format, confirming a presence and relationship strategy capable of uniting the market, institutions and consumers.

“Institutional promotion is primarily aimed at building brand awareness and distinctiveness: clearly highlighting what makes Delle Venezie DOC unique and strengthening, over time, the perception of its quality and authenticity – stated Stefano Sequino, Director of the Delle Venezie DOC Consortium, and continued – The work carried out in 2025 is part of a comprehensive strategy that allows us to operate with continuity and greater effectiveness, consolidating mature markets, engaging emerging markets and promoting our Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie DOC and its production areas. The goal is to increase awareness among consumers and operators, highlighting its origins and connection to the territory. We will continue along this path in 2026, with further developments scheduled that we will share in the coming weeks”.

The 2025 balance sheet thus portrays a solid, structured denomination with vision, which chooses stability as a value, governance as a tool and collaboration as a method, to protect the supply chain of North-Eastern Italy Pinot Grigio and the competitiveness of Italian wine on international markets.
