Monti Lessini Doc Metodo Classico: a new logo for a premium positioning

The Monti Lessini Doc Metodo Classico unveils its new logo after the revision; Lessini Durello Doc remains with the Charmat Method.

The Monti Lessini Doc Metodo Classico has unveiled its new logo, marking a key step in the evolution of the denomination. The presentation took place in 2026, the same year in which the revision of the production regulations was completed, clearly distinguishing the two identities of the territory: Monti Lessini Doc exclusively for Metodo Classico, and Lessini Durello Doc for the Charmat Method. The new visual mark is not a cosmetic update but a functional tool supporting a strategic choice: giving the Metodo Classico of the Lessini a recognizable and autonomous identity within the landscape of Italian sparkling wines.

“2026 is a very important year for us,” notes Gianni Tessari, president of the Lessini Durello Consortium, “because the revision of the regulations has been completed and consumers can now choose between two distinct denominations, starting from the label: Monti Lessini for Metodo Classico only; Lessini Durello for Charmat Method only. It was therefore necessary to create differentiation also from a brand‑identity perspective. We set ourselves a precise and ambitious design challenge: to build a strong, autonomous and recognizable brand identity capable of positioning itself in the high‑end segment of Italian sparkling wines, coexisting with the already established identity of Lessini Durello while clearly distinguishing itself, and integrating harmoniously with the graphic identities of individual wineries without overlapping.”

With the revision of the regulations, consumers now face two clearly differentiated denominations, already visible on the label. Hence the need for a distinct graphic identity capable of coexisting with the historic Lessini Durello identity without overshadowing it.

Monti Lessini Doc Metodo Classico: a separate identity for a distinct denomination

As Gianni Tessari explains, the goal was to build an autonomous and recognizable brand identity, able to position itself in the premium segment of Italian sparkling wines while maintaining coherence with the identities of individual wineries.

The project, created by the Verona‑based agency Epico, led by Luca Rebesani, adopts a graphic language reduced to the essential—an approach inspired by design that avoids trends and instead seeks durability and long‑term legibility.

The logo develops vertically through three elements:

  • a diamond at the base, recalling the volcanic origin of the soils;
  • a central mountain, a direct reference to the Lessini geography and the high‑altitude vineyards;
  • a circle at the top, symbolizing both the Durella grape and the sparkling bubble, key elements of the denomination’s Metodo Classico identity.

These are not decorative symbols but clear indicators of origin, method and raw material.

A project designed for the premium segment

According to Rebesani, the work began with the assumption that Monti Lessini Doc Metodo Classico represents the most structured and long‑lived expression of the territory: a denomination aimed at a knowledgeable audience, interested in depth, structure and aging potential.

From this premise came a coherent premium positioning, which guided all design decisions: aesthetics, language and visual system. Every element is functional; none is ornamental.

The new logo does not attempt to tell the whole story of the wine but defines its perimeter: volcanic origin, native grape variety and Metodo Classico. The rest is entrusted to the glass—and to the work of each winery.
