RCR Cristalleria Italiana presents Magnum, a new line of glasses that redefines the relationship between form, content and the drinking experience. With capacities of 140 and 160 cl, Magnum includes the two largest wine glasses in the world — an oversized format designed for contemporary dining, mixology and the most advanced retail. An unprecedented concept that radically expands the dimension of convivial gestures and shared tasting.
Produced in Colle di Val d’Elsa, Magnum introduces a new interpretation of what a glass can be, transforming it from a simple functional tool into a central element of the experience.
Sharing and conviviality as the core of the world’s largest glasses
The creation of the Magnum line fits into a precise cultural context. A study on Italian drinking habits, promoted by Federvini and conducted by the Department of Communication and Social Research at La Sapienza University of Rome, shows that in Italy alcohol consumption is predominantly moderate and takes place in convivial settings. Over 80% of wine is consumed during meals, and more than 70% of cocktails are associated with aperitivo time. In this scenario, drinking is first and foremost a shared act.
Magnum was created to respond to this evolution, offering a format that encourages sharing at the table and enhances the collective moment.
Magnum and the new shared‑format mixology
In the world of mixology, Magnum finds a natural place. Large‑format cocktails designed for sharing are increasingly common, turning drinks into informal, participatory experiences. Preparations such as punch, sangria, Paloma or tropical cocktails lend themselves perfectly to this type of service, often supported by batching techniques that ensure consistency and quality even in high‑volume environments.
Here, the size of the glass becomes an integral part of the visual and sensory experience, capable of capturing attention and supporting conviviality at the center of the table.

RCR Cristalleria Italiana presents Magnum, a new dimension for wine tasting
Magnum also introduces a completely new scale to the world of wine. The line includes M140 (140 cl) and M160 (160 cl), two glasses designed for structured, aged and full‑bodied wines, both white and red.
The M140, dedicated to red wines, features a tulip shape and a wide bowl that enhances full aromatic expression. The M160, designed for white wines, offers a capacity that allows more delicate aromas to emerge gradually, while the narrower rim concentrates intensity on the palate. In both cases, the generous internal air chamber promotes oxygenation and the release of aromas, creating a vortex that guides the sensory reading of the wine from visual impact to its most subtle aromatic nuances.

Luxion and RCR Cristalleria Italiana’s approach between research and innovation
At the heart of the project is Luxion, RCR’s patented superior sound glass, 100% recyclable and chosen for its transparency, brilliance and durability — even in such large formats. A material designed to withstand professional use over time while maintaining consistently high visual performance.
As Roberto Pierucci, CEO of RCR Cristalleria Italiana, explains:
“Our work begins with listening to the market and the ability to combine technical needs with sensory satisfaction. At RCR we apply a Vertical Integration process that starts with design, continues with mold production and extends to industrial‑scale manufacturing and logistics. This allows us to maintain control over quality and push innovation forward. Magnum was born from this approach and responds to a new way of experiencing tasting.”
The world’s largest glasses as tools of contemporary experience
The Magnum line is aimed at a wide range of professionals — from Horeca to retail, as well as beverage companies seeking distinctive formats for custom projects. As part of RCR’s ongoing development of solutions designed in collaboration with industry professionals, Magnum interprets the glass as an active tool of the experience, capable of supporting daily work and contributing to new consumption rituals.
With Magnum, RCR is not only introducing the largest glasses ever made — it is offering a concrete reflection on how form, scale and material can transform the way wine and mixology are experienced in contemporary dining.
