Farewell to the Green Stars: the Michelin Guide opens a new chapter with the launch of Mindful Voices, a project designed to highlight figures capable of innovating and inspiring in the worlds of dining, hospitality, and wine. The initiative marks an expansion of the Guide’s scope, which is increasingly positioning itself as a cross‑disciplinary cultural platform dedicated to the art of living. The project will be rolled out progressively worldwide throughout 2026, with an official first moment set for 1 June in Copenhagen during the Michelin ceremony dedicated to the Nordic Countries.
A paradigm shift: from destinations to people
With Mindful Voices, the Michelin Guide is redefining its editorial approach by shifting the focus from places to people. The goal is to highlight chefs, hoteliers, and wine producers who are helping transform their sectors through innovative and responsible practices.
The project was created to spotlight virtuous models and contemporary visions capable of interpreting today’s challenges related to sustainability, taste culture, and the evolution of supply chains.
Michelin Guide beyond restaurants: wine and hospitality enter the narrative
Mindful Voices fits into the broader expansion of the Michelin Guide, which in recent years has extended its focus to hospitality and wine alongside gastronomy.
The new project aims to integrate these three dimensions into a unified narrative, emphasizing the role of people as interpreters of a shared vision of contemporary art de vivre.
This expansion marks a strategic transformation: wine is no longer just a complementary element but an active part of the cultural storytelling promoted by the Guide.

Farewell to the Green Stars
Alongside the launch of Mindful Voices, the Michelin Guide has announced that the Green Stars—previously awarded for sustainable gastronomy—will be gradually phased out.
The decision reflects a shift from a system of recognitions to a broader, more narrative‑driven approach in which sustainability is no longer represented by a symbol but conveyed through stories, journeys, and people.
Mindful Voices will be developed across all Michelin Guide editorial channels. Content will be published on the website, app, social media, and magazine, and presented during dedicated international events.
At the heart of the project will be portraits and in‑depth features on key figures in the sector, with the aim of building a global archive of experiences and visions. The new section will be accessible directly from the home page of the Guide’s website and app.
Michelin Guide International Director Gwendal Poullennec explains the meaning of the initiative:
“Mindful Voices will give a platform to all those who are rewriting the rules in their respective fields. This new approach stems directly from what our inspector teams experience in the field: encounters and stories that are transforming practices and raising public awareness of future challenges, and that deserve to be shared. Remaining true to its identity and values, the Michelin Guide will amplify and give full resonance to these voices from the worlds of gastronomy, hospitality, and wine, so they can be heard everywhere.”
