Moët & Chandon Ice Impérial by Pharrell Williams: summer 2026 celebrates a new Champagne ritual

Moët & Chandon Ice Impérial by Pharrell Williams: summer 2026 celebrates a new Champagne ritual inspired by sharing.

Moët & Chandon’s summer 2026 opens under the sign of sharing and the French art de vivre. After the success of the collaboration launched in 2025, the Maison renews its creative dialogue with Pharrell Williams and chooses Saint‑Tropez as the symbolic setting for a new season dedicated to moments lived together. This is not simply a new limited edition. The project expresses a precise philosophy of conviviality, built on the idea that the most memorable occasions often arise from the most spontaneous gestures. With its Mediterranean light, timeless style and unique blend of elegance and ease, Saint‑Tropez becomes the ideal place to embody this vision.

Moët & Chandon and Pharrell Williams invite everyone to transform the simplest summer moments into shared experiences, guided by a message that runs through the entire campaign: “Life is better when shared”.

Moët & Chandon: the new chapter of the collaboration with Pharrell Williams

After reinterpreting some of the Maison’s most iconic cuvées in 2025, including Brut Impérial and Nectar Impérial Rosé, Pharrell Williams returns to collaborate with Moët & Chandon by focusing on one of the most original expressions in the range: Ice Impérial.

For the first time in the Maison’s history, the bottle is presented without the traditional white sleeve that made it instantly recognizable around the world. This choice reflects the desire to remove anything superfluous and bring the focus back to the moment of tasting and the pleasure of being together.

As Pharrell Williams explains:

“I keep coming back to simplicity. Removing the superfluous to focus on what truly matters. The bottle is simpler. The message is simpler. It’s about summer, about wanting to be together, enjoying Champagne however you like — the experience comes first.”

The American artist’s creative approach goes beyond the aesthetics of the product and interprets a broader reflection on the contemporary way of enjoying Champagne, increasingly associated with authentic, informal and shared moments.

From Saint‑Tropez to a new Champagne ritual: the origins of Ice Impérial

To understand the meaning of this new edition, it is necessary to return to the origins of Ice Impérial. Its story begins in Saint‑Tropez, where more than 15 years ago the Maison observed a growing habit among residents and visitors: adding ice to Champagne during the hottest summer days.

What might have seemed like an unconventional practice was interpreted by Moët & Chandon as the sign of a new evolution in consumption rituals. Instead of resisting the trend, the Maison decided to transform it into a specific oenological project, creating in 2011 the world’s first Champagne conceived expressly to be enjoyed over ice.

Still today, Ice Impérial represents one of the most innovative expressions of the pioneering spirit that has defined Moët & Chandon for over 280 years.

“Created in 2011, Moët & Chandon Ice Impérial embodies the Maison’s desire to explore new tasting rituals,” explains Benoît Gouez, Chef de Cave Moët & Chandon. “This playful Champagne, designed to be enjoyed with ice, offers intense freshness, generous fruit aromas and the spirit of summer celebrations, true to the pioneering DNA of Moët & Chandon. It is the Maison’s most free‑spirited and carefree expression, perfect for escaping the everyday.”

Ice Impérial: the first Champagne created to be served over ice

Ice Impérial is unique in the Champagne landscape. It is the first and only Champagne developed specifically to be served “on the rocks”, without compromising the balance and stylistic identity of the Maison.

The blend is built around the personality of Pinot Noir (40–50%), chosen for its vinosity, structure and aromatic intensity. Meunier (30–40%) adds softness and roundness, giving the wine a rich, fleshy mid‑palate. Chardonnay (10–20%) brings tension and freshness, extending the finish with elegance.

The blend also includes 20–30% reserve wines, carefully selected to enhance complexity, richness and stylistic continuity. The dosage — 45 g/l — follows a precise oenological logic: maintaining balance and aromatic intensity even after the addition of ice.

A tribute to the Mediterranean summer

In the glass, Ice Impérial shows an intense golden hue with amber reflections. The bouquet immediately reveals the generous character of the cuvée, opening with aromas of mango and guava, followed by juicy nectarine and a delicate hint of raspberry.

On the palate, the wine confirms its sunny, fruit‑driven personality. The initial sensation recalls a rich bowl of fresh fruit, joined by notes of caramel and quince jam. The finish regains momentum thanks to the citrus freshness of grapefruit and a subtle spicy touch of ginger.

Served in a large wine glass with three ice cubes, Ice Impérial reaches its ideal expression, combining roundness, intensity and a refreshing, thirst‑quenching sensation.

Spicy Mangosé: the cocktail with Ice Impérial created by Pharrell Williams and Benoît Gouez

Among the novelties of summer 2026 is Spicy Mangosé, the cocktail created by Pharrell Williams together with Chef de Cave Benoît Gouez.

The recipe is inspired by the fruity character of Ice Impérial and the exotic sweetness of mango, enriched with agave and a touch of cayenne pepper.

A contemporary interpretation of the desire for experimentation and lightness that defines the entire project, offering a new way to enjoy Champagne while amplifying its convivial spirit.
