Growth passes through Puglia for Mack & Schühle Italia. The company specialised in the production and distribution of Italian wines around the world has announced a total investment of €16 million dedicated to the development of its facility in Laterza, in the province of Taranto.
The project combines increased production capacity, technological innovation, artificial intelligence, environmental sustainability and new market opportunities linked to sparkling wine production and dealcoholisation, strengthening the strategic role of the Apulian site within the international group.
Mack & Schühle Italia: €16 Million Industrial Plan to Strengthen Its Production Presence in Puglia
With this initiative, Mack & Schühle Italia is entering a new phase of its industrial journey, confirming the central role of the Laterza facility within the company’s growth strategy.
The investment, worth a total of €16 million, aims to expand the plant’s production capacity and accelerate the process of technological innovation and circularity, in line with the evolution of the wine market and the new requirements of the supply chain.
The project is part of a long-term vision aimed at integrating industrial development, digitalisation and sustainability, factors that are becoming increasingly decisive for the competitiveness of companies operating in the sector.
Financial Support from BdM Banca, CDP and SACE
To support the project, in June 2026 Mack & Schühle Italia secured a total financing package of €12 million from BdM Banca and Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP).
The transaction, structured as a club deal with the support of a SACE guarantee, consists of two ten-year loans of €6 million each.
The initiative represents an important element of the company’s growth plan, aimed at strengthening production efficiency and facilitating the introduction of innovative technologies within the Apulian facility.
As part of the transaction, the lenders were advised by ADVANT Nctm as legal advisor, with a team led by Partner Eugenio Siragusa and Counsel Gianluca Salvadei.
New Bottling Line and Artificial Intelligence for Predictive Maintenance
The works, launched during the first months of 2026, primarily include the expansion of the industrial building and the complete renewal of the bottling line.
The technological core of the project will be represented by the installation of a next-generation module equipped with artificial intelligence systems. The new infrastructure will be capable of performing self-diagnostic activities and predictive maintenance, helping improve operational efficiency and reduce production downtime.
The adoption of these solutions confirms the growing integration of digital technologies into wine production processes, with the objective of increasing productivity, reliability and quality.
Sparkling Wine Production and Dealcoholisation: New Market Opportunities
Among the most significant investments is the construction of a new sparkling wine production facility and a dealcoholisation plant based on low-temperature osmotic filtration.
These investments will allow Mack & Schühle Italia to broaden its production portfolio and respond with greater flexibility to evolving international demand.
In particular, dealcoholisation represents one of the most dynamic segments of today’s beverage industry, while the expansion of capabilities dedicated to sparkling wines offers additional opportunities for diversification and commercial growth.
