South Korea Was the Protagonist of the Third Stop of the Chef Residency with Prosecco DOC

The third stage of Chef Residency 2026 brought the gastronomic culture of South Korea to Milan with Chef Areum Yoon.

The third chapter of Chef Residency 2026, the project by the Consorzio di Tutela del Prosecco Doc in collaboration with Tuorlo, concluded on July 15 at the House of Mediterraneo after four intense days dedicated to Korean gastronomic culture. The absolute protagonist was Chef Areum Yoon, one of the most authoritative voices of the new Korean cuisine, who led masterclasses, hands‑on activities, and moments of exchange following an initial immersion in the Prosecco Doc Dreamland and the wineries of the region. This edition reaffirmed the strength of dialogue between different gastronomic cultures and the role of Prosecco DOC as an ambassador of a conviviality capable of uniting traditions and languages.

From Prosecco Doc Dreamland to Milan: a journey through territory and culture

The residency began with Chef Areum Yoon’s visit to the Prosecco Doc Dreamland, where she explored the Denomination’s territory through an itinerary interweaving culture, traditions, and gastronomy. Visits to Prosecco Doc wineries allowed her to deepen her understanding of the history, heritage, and production excellence that define this wine, a symbol of the Italian lifestyle.

After this discovery phase, the chef arrived in Milan to launch the Chef Residency program, hosted from July 12 to 15 at the House of Mediterraneo. Here, she led educational masterclasses and practical sessions dedicated to Korean techniques, ingredients, and culinary culture, guiding participants through an intensive journey of learning and exchange. The entire experience was designed to foster authentic dialogue between different traditions, in line with the values of Made in Italy promoted by Prosecco Doc, and concluded with the final dinner on July 15 — an immersive journey through Korean aesthetics, flavors, and rituals.

Areum Yoon: a leading voice of the new Korean cuisine

Chef Areum Yoon is today one of the most recognizable figures in contemporary Korean gastronomy. After capturing public attention through her participation in the first edition of MasterChef Korea in 2012, she built a career that blends culinary research and communication. Over the years, she has become a familiar face thanks to her appearance in Netflix Culinary Class Wars – Season 2 in 2025 and her participation in MasterChef Asia in 2026.

The partners behind Chef Residency

House of Mediterraneo once again proved to be the operational and cultural hub of the Prosecco Doc Chef Residency project — a place where professionals from around the world meet to share techniques, visions, and approaches.

Chef Areum Yoon worked alongside Chef William Caputo, representing the Maestro Martino Food Academy, the educational project of the Associazione Maestro Martino chaired by Carlo Cracco, for which Prosecco Doc is the Official Sparkling Wine.

The next chapters of Chef Residency: Canada and the United Kingdom

After Brazil and South Korea, Chef Residency will continue to build bridges between some of the most compelling gastronomic cultures of the contemporary scene. The next residencies will be dedicated to Canada, from September 24 to 29, and the United Kingdom, from October 7 to 12, both featuring masterclasses and a final dinner at the House of Mediterraneo.

Prosecco Doc will accompany each chapter as an ambassador of a conviviality capable of uniting territories, people, and traditions, thanks to its versatility — perfect for exploring new gastronomic horizons.

The open call to participate in the upcoming Chef Residency programs is still open: applications are free of charge and offer chefs and young professionals the opportunity to join an international training journey alongside leading figures of the contemporary gastronomic scene.
